Ford & GM adopt the Tesla Supercharger network standard (NACS).

Well, I think GM won't let too many be there. They're killing the current Bolt, so there's a huge chance people like me will not be able to get a Bolt for a while. We'll probably have to wait and see if I can get one when the next gen Bolt comes out, if it still costs around what it does now, if there's still the federal and state tax incentives by then, and if I still make the same amount of money I do now or not. The next gen Bolt will very likely have faster charging.

 

China is starting to make EVs in Mexico nearer your price point. How they are treated in the US and in your state for tax purposes and you could afford one of these smaller and limited range EVs. Supposed to be high quality.

that's 500kW's - that oughta future proof all the poor slobs stuck with the old fashioned SAE/CCS plugs

... but where's the underwriters laboratory (UL) seal of compliance ... one would think that would be included for $200.

My BMW i3-REx is limited to 47-48 kW. The 25 kW motor-scooter engine works just fine maintaining 70 mph, 24x7, with a gas stop every 88 mi ... like a motorcycle cross country.

Well, it's Lucid turn to jump in the NACS bandwagon in 2025 and previously built vehicles will use an adapter to access Superchargers.

Mazda and Stelantis are the two big one left I believe.

 

Mazda isn't that big, and I think they will follow Toyota.

 

Mazda finally caved in and will switch to NACS too.

I sure hope Stelantis caves before their 2025 Ramcharger 100 miles of EV range / quick charging plug-in pick-up comes out. Saving the pennies in the interim.

Curious, the higher non-Tesla cost almost looks like the higher relative cost I've paid for CCS-1 ChargePoint kWh. This suggests an interesting experiment since the Athens EA station and SuperChargers are so close:

• kWh and cost for my Tesla Model 3 to drive to and charge in Athens, EA station
• kWh and cost for my Tesla Model 3 to drive to and charge in Athens, SuperCharger station
• kWh and cost for my BMW i3-REx to EV drive to and charge in Athens, EA station

Nope, it is not basically all. Supposedly, a third of the V3 are not available. One on my route up north that just opened last fall... V3 with 250kW service... is not listed for NACS. It would be awesome if that location had already proven popular enough to get a V4 upgrade.
