Hi - In 2017 the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Tax Credit expired. It is extremely likely to be reinstated for 2019 and 2020, as part of tax extenders embedded in the new omnibus appropriations bill. 30% tax credit that applies to EV charging stations / infrastructure. Cheers! John
Indeed! On further reading (I think on InsideEVs): It looks like this was retroactive for 2018, too. So one could file an amended return to claim.

Fixed it for you. Look at the covered dates: 2022 and earlier. As a Prime buyer this month (not a Prius, but the other one), as best I know (and what I financially planned for), I'm S.O.L.
Apologies if this has already been covered. I've been digging and digging. Seems it has come to amending the tax year if you haven't claimed it. It is written as new thing in IRA (?) but I am not finding how unless you amend that tax year. Am I wrong?
The now-expired Toyota Prime tax credit issue has been covered in several other threads. Biden's signature on the Inflation Reduction Act in August 2022 is what changed everything, and wiped out the tax credit for Toyotas, though they were getting very close to the phase-out anyway. Though this thread did remind me to file for a state sales tax refund for the L2 EVSE I bought last week, and to check IRS rules for possible federal tax credit for it on next year's filing too.
