Hello everyone. I just replaced the hybrid battery in my 2006 Prius. The job went very well and learned a lot by doing it myself. We recently inherited the car from a friend whose sister was the original owner. Car has 180k miles and had the original hybrid battery. It's still in great shape, no rust and perfect dealer maintenance history. Uses no oil between oil changes. Currently getting 56 mpg. This is the 3rd Gen 2 Prius that we have owned. Excited to be back in another Gen 2!
Yes that car is barely broken good just starting to get comfortable I've never seen 56 miles per gallon on my display and any of the four or five we owned and they've all run perfectly I think it's hysterical how in some areas this occurs doesn't really matter to us we don't give two hoots about any of that I hope people are getting 80 miles to the gallon I've never personally seen on any display or any emptying of the tank and refilling I've seen 50 maybe once in I don't know 15 years of this car of these cars and the generation 3 was similar maybe a mile more to the gallon maybe two possibly And this is in central North Carolina pretty much flat land mostly in town and state highway driving in town in the cities not even counting highway driving.
We've only put a couple of hundred miles so far on the new battery. Just around town so mileage will drop once we get on the freeway.
