Got the HID to LED conversion in today I used the a fan unit they have fans mounted in them they're made by I think hiya HID or some silly name like that It's obviously Chinese Asian they look fairly well built the fans are almost noiseless they make this almost a chirping sound a high wine that's almost an audible to our ears so not too bad we'll see tonight what the aiming looks like The lights look bright everything seems good with them they match the fog lights everything now is about 6K. Only took about 45 minutes to do them both actually this car's near perfect as far as bolts and screws go so it was literally only three clips and like six 10 mm I did take the light assemblies out of the car and lay them on the inverter to change the bulbs and tidy everything up and then dropped them right back in their holes I noticed that my driver side had been cracked as I suspected by looking at how the curved portion of the headlight where it meets the fender is a little undulation in that spot like where somebody pushed on it whether it was with their knee or whatever it was but no movement everything is solid and looks reasonably good for a car we have about $1,350 in we could not be happier for sure.

I can't believe that was just one sentence? I bet more people would participate in your discussion if you did some punctuation and edting.

Also, please share the link to LED bulbs you bought or just brand and model and how much they cost. Thanks!

I purchased the h i d y a LED headlight bulb d series d45 x003 8 WPQPJ is the stock number they're black they have fans they have a wire coming out of the back of them that plugs up directly to the connector that's coming off of your bulb these do not bypass the HID ballast like the a l l a brand does You could cut the plug off and wire them directly bypassing the ballast if you wanted to I think. But I don't think this will be necessary The aim looks fairly close We will see tonight they were $69 for the pair plug and play and they're indexable so you put a ring in the hole in the headlamp first and then you insert the lamp assembly heat sink and fan and you can look through your headlight and make sure they're sitting at three and nine You just turn the assembly stop when you're done that's it.

So You're saying this is an HID to LED conversion? If so do you bypass the old HID with a rewiring, or does it just plug and play and the old HV ballast is still used?

Or are these just straight up 9003 standard Halogen type plugs with ED electronics?

HID to LED conversion you're just removing the HID bulb and using the plug that's on the end of the HID bulb cord to plug to this LED assembly and that's it You could use the 12 volt wire coming from or that goes to the ballast cut that and run that to the bulb assembly but this conversion doesn't require that The a l l a brand that's been talked about here before has that option to bypass the igniter but the HID uses such little voltage from the igniter that even when the igniter fails and doesn't light the HID bulb anymore it will still like the LED generally speaking that's the thought anyway we're going to find out If I need to I can pull the backs off the the housings while in the car and make the cut and wire them up to bypass the igniters we'll see if that becomes necessary who knows.
