My elect. power is expensive between 5pm and 8pm. It's regular price at all other times.
I'm looking for help to set a charging schedule that would Stop charging at 5pm and start anytime I want between 8pm and 5pm the following day.
    Any help much appreciated

I'd be suprised if Toyota didn't have that option in the settings. All other plug in cars have it.

It does have it. The setup procedure is in the manual, on page 123 (online version). I don't use it because my electric rates are pretty low.

You should be able to set a repeated schedule of "start at 8pm, end at 5pm".

According to the manual, that should do everything correctly:
    • Start immediately if you plug it in outside 5-8.
    • Wait until 8 before charging if you plug it in during 5-8.
    • Stop ongoing charging at 5, and resume at 8.
Although I've seen reports that it stops at midnight if your event spans it, so you might have to have "start at 8pm, end at 11:59pm" and "start at 12:00am and end at 5pm" events.

And if you find yourself wanting to charge somewhere else between 5pm and 8pm, there's a "charge now" option you can find in the UI, temporarily overriding the schedule. This will come up as a dialogue prompt every time you shut down if "Accessory mode customise" is off.

Or alternatively, removing and immediately reinserting the plug will make it charge now regardless of schedule.

Thanks for all your help. BTW, I went 49 miles on EV alone at 60 mph. I'm going to try to improve on that. Also, I haven't put a drop of gas in it and it has 630 miles on the ODO. This is fun

How did you go 49 miles on ev? My full charge is 33 miles, so far 113 miles on the odo all electric.

Your full charge should improve over time. Mine started out that way and now it indicates 43 miles when completed. With the colder weather, I probably only get 38=39 miles out of EV only range but I expect to get 45+ or better in warmer weather.
