Last year I installed the ILX-W650 from Alpine. Great head unit. When I installed it, though, I did notice a slight humming/buzzing noise from the speakers. It wasn't loud and was only noticeable when no music was playing. It was so minute I didn't worry about it. Now I just installed the Infinity Primus component speakers in the front. The tweeters really have amplified that humming/buzzing noise. I have tried everything including checking the ground, rearranging the ground, disconnecting the antenna, disconnecting the backup camera, and even installing an inline power noise filter. I've done everything Crutchfield has recommended. I decided to even install the old stock radio to see if it made the same noise. It does make the same noise it's just I never noticed it before for some reason. If I have to live with it I will, but I'd like to not have to. What are your all's recommendation? It is a 2012 Toyota Prius Two with the non JBL, and non Entune sound system. It did/does have factory Bluetooth. It has 230k mi. on it.
Back in my car stereo installer days this was the reason we ran all new wires and didn't use any of the wires the car had. This even means running wires directly to the 12v battery itself. How much of the car's wires do you think are still in the system? You might just have to live with it... Once I built a professional recording studio I realized even the most expensive car stereo gear is junk because it's just not the kind of space you can create perfect sound reproduction in. That's why I tell people to by pro audio and an inverter and run that system in your car without installing it so you can take it out when you need more room.
Every bit of it. I used the adapter harnesses from Metra. There are no amplifiers or anything installed.
