Well, I honestly really liked my PP. It is a very comfortable car and I wish you all well. We have been thinking of going all electric for a while and a really, really good deal came up all of a sudden on a 2024 BMW I4 Xdrive40. After a while of going back and forth in the sales office I really couldn’t turn down the offer. So again, My best to all of you and enjoy your cars.
You mustn't completely leave! You must come back and give us your impressions on your new BEV! We have forums for that, regardless of brand! Most of us here will be migrating to full BEVs, sooner or later. The more feedback from those of you moving ahead of us, the better. Let us know what we slow-pokes are missing.
traded my prius for a $21,000. bolt. i love it, and now hang out here and the bolt forum. all the best!
Friend has a bolt and is very happy with it. One thing for me is that I love techy stuff. The BMW has so much tech though that my head is swimming. Just called the dealer to make an appointment with the person that will give me a lesson. One difference right out front is the dealer. My Toyota dealer was great and I had a great experience when i bought my PP, but the BMW dealer is much more helpful. They have more resources to help you out too. The BMW is incredible, it has every conceivable option on it. It even parks itself for you. I will have to get used to the range differences. Charging has not been as big a problem as I thought it would be, pretty easy so far. I get two years free charging so the cost of charging won’t really hit home for a couple of years. We had one trip (not super long but had to recharge during the trip) and it was just fine. Stopped, used the rest room, got a cup of coffee and I was charged up and off, Another thing that made it easier was that we had bought a Rav4 Prime in 2021, when the rebates were still there. My electric company also gave us $500 toward a charger and I had bought a Chargepoint flex, which I had hard wired into my garage, so I have agood level 2 charger already.
it's funny. there's no place like prius chat, idk why. familiarity? i'm learning a lot from old posts, but prius chat peeps seem to be about the friendliest of the several forums i belong to. there are a bunch of old prius chatters over there, many who made the move long before moi.
Well, that sure isn’t what I noticed. I have been on several car forums and this one is pretty negative. A lot of people complain about really trivial things (to me anyway). There are more members here that honestly are a major PIA. They think they know a lot but their knowledge is really based on old myths and tales. Glad you enjoy it but suffice it to say I sure didn’t have those same feelings.
This is something that puzzles me not just in this forum (with a few exceptions) but in most Prius reviews. While not comparable to BMW the P5 has now quite a big amount of tech features (up to level 2+, pda, advanced parking) BUT people barely talk about it and the reviewers if ever just shortly mention it. Like it doesnt really matter that you get most of them already for free in the lowest trim. So far there is still no review that properly tests P5 TSS 3.0 lane keeping in curvy roads or the advanced parking in real life scenarios on a crowded parking space. Or even the different ways PDA helps you. At least for most of them you can find now Lexus or Toyota C-HR reviews.
I’ve been on the Chevy bolt forum for a few months, and there are old myths and tales posted there too. That’s the nature of social media, and it’s just human nature. You want really trivial things? One guy was complaining that he loved the heated steering wheel, but was upset that the paddle shifter wasn’t also heated
jeez that's right it HAS been that long for some of us .... daughter was in high school and now she has her own (1st) teenager! .
