curioius what the noise when in reverse that sounds like water running through pipes. i never notices that on my gen 3 and not sure i noticed it on my gen 4 right away but now i do. i had the car in reverse but stopped for about a min to see if it went away but did not. as soon as i switch to drive it goes away
i would have said the pedestrian warning system, but it should be the same in forward or reverse, up to about 15mph or so. you won't likely hear it after the engine comes on, or if the windows are up out in open space. i always hear mine pulling in and out of the garage in ev.
no this sounds like water pipes filling back up after the water had been turned off but it makes that sound until engaging Drive
yes ill do that sometime this weekend. I wonder if the cold weather has something to do with it because I bought the car in Aug and havent noticed it prior until recently when temps were below 40

On my ‘22 the Proximity Notification sound is significantly louder in reverse than in drive, and it seems to be slightly different (but I think that just may be because of the volume). I never thought of describing it like you have, but I believe you could.
I noticed a rhythmic humming sound when in reverse when I bought my 2021 Prime. I took it to the dealer and was told that the sound is normal for the Gen 4 Prius. If you raise the hood, you should hear the sound toward the front of the engine compartment. If in doubt, take it to a Toyota dealer and have them check it out. Most dealers will check it out for free.
heres the video clip. disregard the backup beep listen to the other sound Ive heard a similar sound when someone was backing up their 2017. much louder. I thinks its the ev motor. //i have an mp4 video clip but cant seem to upload here, any suggestions on that
the uploads were broken in the recent server migration. who knows when they'll get fixed. some have had success uploading to another site and providing a link
