Not bad, though I still haven't seen a review yet that even mentions Charge Mode. And I still haven't been told by any Gen5 Prime owners using Techstream, DrPrius or Hybrid Assistant how many amps they see reported while in charge mode, even at one speed much less a few different speeds.
Sorry for my charge mode rant. I thought the linked article was pretty good and to the point.

I'm interested in the topic too.

I've recently read on the Prius french forum that the charge mode changed completely from gen 4.
Now rather than achieve 1 EV km in about 1.5 HV km driving, it needs some 4 km, engine seems a lot less loaded. No idea about the consumption.

    You troll - I gave you "one speed" on Aug 14th 40mph 11A 275v 3kW

now I'll give you two more: (corrected)
    65-70mph 13.5A 250v 3.375kW average
    45-55mph 17A 270v 4.6kW average

You don't drive a Gen5 Prime, why so much "attitude"?

    name caller
Good to see you back and contributing @tovli
I'll make sure to not show so much attitude when you're around.
And please list what you see at 35 if you ever take a look at the speed.
I'm surprised 45-55 gave you the highest rate so far.

@Maxwell61 thanks for the new info about Gen 5 charge mode.
In the Gen 4 Prime a few years ago one snowy morning ( somewhere around freezing temps ) I drove EV at 55 mph until I ran out of range, at something like 23 miles. I take that route a lot so I remember approximate distance. I stopped and took some pics of the dash turned around and took surface roads back the way I came at mostly 35mph with lots of stops and ravines along the south shore of Lake Ontario. DrPrius showed regen/charge mode Amp bounce all around with a max Amp regen at around 40 Amps. The Gen 4 charged to 80% SOC on the way home from where I ran out of EV range, and 35 mpg was about all I got for the charge mode leg of the trip.

I think the charge mode mpg hit is why so many Prime owners call charge mode useless.

thanks for the link @otatran also some European cities already ban ICE vehicles. Wonder what would happen if they tried to do that in this country???
-- I read recently something about San Fran wanting to ban fossil fuel traffic in the city..

Don't intend to spend more time in charge mode.

I have in my notes two estimates for charge mode MPG,
    - first: 33 MPG for the 50.9 miles in HV Charge mode, and
    - second: 44 actual MPG for 400 HV miles that included the 50.9 miles in HV Mode.

    Very interestingly, for reference, my
    - 0% SOC 1469 miles in HV mode has averaged 45.2 MPG

It may be that using the EV miles up on a trip, and then using charge mode at the end is not such a bad idea as it seems at first.

I"m one of the believers in charge mode. I don't use it all that much but when I do use it I try to figure out how to use it more efficiently next time. I"ve found that there are better ways to use it than the full 0% to 80% SOC set it and forget it scenario. I don't alway come out a head and it's frustrating when I think I get it (what's more efficient ) and it turns out I tank mpg even worse than if I did just set it and forget it., ;)
