Hello all and good morning. So everything is back in the hybrid pack, except for 1 8mm nut that's supposed to hold the module in place. I have no idea where it disappeared off to. However I don't know if 1 8mm nut will affect the performance at all, especially since I have the other nuts attached. Aside from that, the pack is ready to go back into the car, but gotta wait on my neighbor to help me load it back into the car.

So I have some rather bad news. Even though the Autel AP200 arrived today, apparently it doesn't work with my Android cellphone, despite it bein 2023. Not sure what the issue is, but definitely not a happy camper about this situation. I have the battery pack back inside the car, but I can't clear it as the bluetooth dongle doesn't work with my cellphone. So unless their customer service can somehow help, I'm gonna have to send it back & get myself a regular obd2 scanner.

So I do have some better news. My mom kept her old Fixd obd2 scanner and it actually helped to find better info about my issues. So I need to order a temperature sensor for the battery pack as well as a current sensor as both are apparently bad. What's sad is that the Hyper Tough tool couldn't exactly find this or elaborate on it further, despite it being their "best" tool, which is rather sad.

What happens when trying to set up the Autel? What phone and what version android?

I had some hiccups when first trying to connect the Autel via bluetooth. Read the entire review thread.

For your car, double check the connector going into the pack current sensor and that the pack negative lead goes through the sensor.

It's not uncommon for one of the temperature sensors to get damaged while working on the pack.

Here's the sensor. Haven't read about it failing too often Screenshot_20231105-091040.jpeg

Hey man so I have a Moto G Power. Ill have to go find this review thread. By the way the temperature sensor was actually bad before the abs light came about. I tried to do some testing with the Dr. Prius app and was getting conflicting issues and that's when someone said that the temp sensor was faulty. I have both sensors in the mail & will hopefully arrive by Thursday. I already miss using my Prius to do deliveries.

That's the phone I have - moto G power (2021). If I recall, none of the bluetooth functions in the autel app worked initially, I had to go into the phone settings and pair the OBD device. After that I didn't have much problem with connecting.

The autel instructions give the procedure. Download the basic autel app. Register an account and login. Enter the OBD device serial number and activation code to "bind" the device to your account. Download the Toyota (and OBD2 if you want) diag apps. Plug the device into your car and pair the device to your phone.

Then select Toyota diag, select Area (North America), select 16 pin DLC, now you can select "read VIN", enter a couple options, then read codes, data, etc from the car's systems.

Not very intuitive but it worked for me.

So great news on my end: I just ordered the sensors on Friday & apparently they'll be arriving in the mail tomorrow. So looking forward to getting those sensors installed tomorrow & hopefully I can cleared those error codes in order to get my car back up and driving again! The down side is that the guy who I purchased the modules from never put the modules in the mail, but that's ok as they're not really a necessity at this point.

So I believe this will be my final update. Good news and bad news. Good news is that I was able to get both the sensors wrapped out mostly without an issue (the only minor issue is that this little black plastic that was supposed to hold the green sensor at the top just wouldn't stay so I had to switch it with the original black plastic from the old sensor). Current sensor swap was the easiest at a 5 min change out. Battery pack is now in the car. Now for the bad news. Somehow within the last week literally half the voltage from my 12v battery just disappeared from the pack. I took it to O Reillys where I got it from & they said its currently at around 5v & they said that they wouldn't even try to slow charge it. They recommended that I get a replacement from Walmart since theirs is cheaper. So that's what I'm gonna do first thing tomorrow is go to Walmart & get myself a replacement 12v battery & hopefully that will be the end of this nightmare. Unfortunately I've had nothing but issues with O Reilly batteries from the very beginning. On average they only lasted in my car between 6 months to a year. I've had to replace it 3x during this span.

    So looking forward to tomorrow.

Hey there, so I just tried to use the Autel AP200 again & its actually the Diag part that I have to install that's not compatible with my cellphone. I have no idea how you were able to get over that issue, but I'm not. Also I've noticed in the GooglePlay store where others weren't able to install it as well. Just gonna ship it back & get myself a regular obd2 scanner as im done with bluetooth ones.

I am using the latest version of Android, which is 12. For some weird reason the Diag-ap200 says that my phone just doesn't work with it. But that's ok because I just got a steal of a deal on a nicely used Ancel FX2000 & it's in the mail. Just gotta wait til next week to get it.

Hey all so here's the latest: so I just got myself a proper obd2 scanner in the mail today: Ancel FX2000. So some of the codes were able to go away, but I was presented with other codes. C1259, C1310 (both remained), U0073, U0123, U0124, U0126 & U0293. Apparently the 2 questionable modules that I was worried about will definitely have to be removed & I already ordered the replacements. Based on other videos, they say to put the current good ones in the middle with the replacements on the outside. I'm gonna look into the U codes and go from there.

You need to sort out why you're getting all those Uxxxx codes before anything else. Without out a good communications network you are flying blind.

The C1259 and C1310 do not add anything to the picture. They are merely feedback codes acknowledging receipt of information/codes from other ECUs.

So based on doing some research, I can get the sensors for the yaw/lateral acceleration from a local junkyard since thats not a very popular prius thing. Same goes for the steering angle sensor (which is behind the airbag). Unfortunately there's no videos on how to remove the yaw rate sensor in a prius, so gonna have to do some digging around in a junkyard prius to figure out where that one is. For the u0293, gonna test out the fuses to see if they're okay or not. Hopefully this will help figure out those issues in the near future.

You are going down another rabbit hole.

FYI, The Ancel scanner that you purchased can NOT read all the trouble codes that you have.

So upon checking, I realized that I manually stopped the updates as I was getting them literally every single day back in July and it was getting on my nerves instead of installing it ALL in one day. So working on getting it ALL now.

Hey there just so you know I'm not trying to go down ANY rabbit holes to begin with. I'm just trying to resolve the issue at hand. Also I'm open to getting an OBD2 scanner that will read all the codes as long as it doesn't cost over $100. This recent one set me back around $70. Also my phone is stuck at Android 12, but I'll give the AP200 one more try. Aside from that, I'm open to ideas on OBD2 scanners that'll do what I need without spending over $100.

Btw I do still have the mini vci cable to use the techstream, but don't know of a reliable site to get the info needed to override what their software is asking for.

Do you have a tablet that you can install the Autel AP200 app on?
