That's interesting. I have not compared the two vehicles by inside dimensions. On paper, PP has more cargo volume behind the second row. PP with 19.8 cubic feet behind the second row and 36.6 cubic feet behind the front row. Bolt with 16.6 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 57 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. So, yeah, with seats down, Bolt may be larger. I just wonder if these numbers are true? 36.6 vs 57 seems to be too big of a difference. Maybe Bolt's headroom is much taller than PP's or Bolt's second number includes the underdeck storage?

Interestingly, according to specs I found on the internet, The Bolt EUV has 16.3 cubic feet of cargo space with its rear seats upright and 56.9 cubic feet with these seats folded. This is smaller than Bolt EV's numbers.

What happen to a car company clearly listing their model's specs on the website?

On paper, the Bolt's are about a half foot taller than the PP, with slightly better headroom and legroom all around. By the EPA's rounded, but done by the same standard, passenger volume specs, the Bolt EV has 3cu.ft. more space than the PP. The EUV is 3cu.ft. more than the EV, but one cubic foot less in cargo. The Bolts' cargo floor to the rear seat back is shorter than the PP's, which is also almost a foot longer in total length.

The Chevies prioritized passenger volume, which leads to more added space with seats folded down. They also don't have the Kammback profile of the Prius. Good for aero, but cuts off upper cargo space and rear headroom.

The EUV wheelbase is 2.9 inches longer than the EV, and I'm guessing the designers were able to push the rear seats farther back into the cargo area.

 

The EPA specifies a specific version of an SAE method. So the numbers are comparable vs what the company uses in marketing. Which could use an older or newer version, or some other method. This is countered by the EPA rounding results to a whole number.

 

I do the planning on a PC. It's easier to play with, set your EV, arrival %SOC, filters and such, and see the pop ups for individual legs, when on a bigger screen.
But that's just me.

Great story. Around 1984-1985, I had a MicroVAX II under my desk at work, developing some custom software to be delivered to a GM engine assembly plant in Canada. It was a bittersweet day when it got packed up and shipped to Canada. I then got to visit it in Canada most weeks for a few months, to integrate it into a much bigger project where our parent company was building a completely new assembly line that used it. What was bad, was that a foundry was under the same roof as the assembly line, so the monitor and keyboard had to be special sealed, industrial-strength stuff due to all the grime in the air. Going from typing on a nice keyboard, to having to pound on an industrial membrane keyboard, was very rough on the fingertips. Sounds funny, but almost became chronic pain, luckily I recovered.

When cleaning grime off the screen window every day, I realized what grime must be accumulating in my lungs. Good motivation to get the software bug-free, modifications completed, and get out of there.

Of course, now our phones have more computer power, better graphics, more memory, and more storage than minicomputers like the MicroVAX had. Now the best thing you can do with one is gut it and turn the chassis into a cool little cupboard in a camper van build.

Matt black tape is kind of ugly but it works. Matt black paint and a brush is a little nicer and holds up better. About 90% of the dash on my car has been de-glared. All that chrome is very pretty and all, but I need to drive the darn thing, not sit around looking at it.

A piece of dark fabric might work up on the flat top of the dash.
