Can't believe this guy picked the Corolla, due to it's 'cheaper price' and a little more headroom. He also thought it was 'noisier', and 'slow', and although the mpg's were way down vs. the Prius, he still picked the Corolla?? Hmmm....a bit biased, huh?

Especially since reviewers always tend to go with the car with more power.

Not really a Prius review, but here it is as part of the line-up of contenders for European Car of the Year 2024, in Danish:

This is from the annual week-long testing event held in Denmark to help narrow down to the shortlist of 7, for final announcement in February.

The Prius G2 won in 2005.

Gen 2 Prius was revolutionary in many ways. It was also probably the best-looking Prius ever.

You are quite correct in stating that e-AWD is better than mechanical AWD in terms of fuel efficiency. My observations suggest that in the Gen 4 Sienna the e-AWD doesn't impose any mpg penalty. The RAV4 is officially advertised at 41/38 for both FWD and e-AWD, I think.

Very thoroughpoor review from a driver
Pretty comprehensive review, but ignorant on a lot of features while speaking like Toyota should take design advice from him lol.

If you don't know where the volume mute button is on the steering wheel, maybe don't comment on there not being one lol. Lots and lots of negativity that was either hyperbole, personal opinion (which seemed to be lacking price point perspective), or simply incorrect.

Puts the seat all the way to the floor then complains about not being able to see all the "HUD" display. Says he has to go all the way to the floor with the seat because of "headroom issues". Well guess what, if he had actual headroom issues, he'd be able to easily see the gauges the way they were supposed to be seen... LMAO. I am 3 inches taller than him, I'm long-waisted, and with the seat on the floor, I have several inches of headroom and MORE than enough room to see the gauges properly. In fact, I raised the steering wheel so the part of the gauge with actual information rests just above my wheel (as it was intended).

He actually complained about the aesthetic nature of the non-functional parts of the headlights. I mean... can you miss the point any more buddy?

It might be a decent video if you muted the narration and just watched him walk through nearly every button, feature, and option on the car.

Yeah, quite a few of the nitpics are things that exist in my gen 4 and I have no problem with.

That is a very good point. Can't find any visual evidence that anyone from the site torquenews.com drove a 2023 or 2024 Prius Prime.

Digging a little deeper on the site though it does seem to be the case that their authors seem to be consistently fans of the Prius. Probably more appropriately considered a meta review since they do have a unique presentation and collection of data on the Prius Prime in this related article.

If I hadn't spent $$ for the aftermarket wheels I have now, I might have tried their wheel option- didn't know there was a swap that would allow for wider wheels/tires! Will keep that in mind for the future.

Side note: the car I sold was a 2018 VW GTI, so seeing them together in the video was a really weird thing!

For future reference here is a comparison of the tires they used and stock tire size.

I understand the increased tire width and how that will increase grip not so clear to me why they chose the tire diameter they did.

I too already spent quite a bit of money on aftermarket wheels and tires not sure how this would have effected my choice.

Yep. Really curious on what wider 19" wheels and tires would be like. Maybe they'll revisit.
