My 2012 Prius V has 141000 miles on it and the hybrid battery doesnt seem to work very well anymore. I am looking to replace it and it was suggested to get the lithium battery upgrade but im not sure if this works for the V model or not. Does anyone have experience with this company or any others to reccomend to solve my issue? Thank you

The v hybrid battery is the same as the hatchback. You will have to diy teardown your battery assembly to the cells and replace them.

Yes, it works for the Prius v (wagon) model.

There are many threads in this forum about the lithium battery upgrade and user experience with them. You need to search for them.

'doesn't seem to work well anymore', you may have a different problem which a new battery won't solve

I have been running the Nexcell Lithium pack since last Summer (June 2022) version 1 (zero problems). Went from 41-42 mpg on a decent stock battery to this and started immediately seeing 51-53 mpg under the same driving conditions. Recently, upgraded to the Version 2. Not a whole lot more MPG, maybe 1-2 more but much more bottom end torque and temperature management with the new circuit boards and vented case tops. Here's a couple screenshots from 1/2 tank and empty recently (Gen 3 engine in car at the time). You can see this car gets WAY more than your average V. I would take the plunge especially with rising gas prices and invest in your future. (Yes that's 425 miles at half tank and yes, that's also 623.5 miles at the end of the tank).

Seems your gauge showing over half is slightly off when 8 of the 12 gallons have been used. Regardless, 50 mpg with a heavier v and its higher numerical final drive ratio (3.703 vs 3.268) is impressive, assuming the transaxle was not changed.

Transaxle not changed. Also, 1 bar above half is actual half tank btw…

Missed that part when I read the manual or over my 12 years and 300,000 miles of driving a v. But if you say so I guess my gauge is calibrated wrong.

I have an ultra gauge plugged into the OBD2 at all times that tells me how much gas is left in the tank. I checked it at this mark and it said 5.95 gallons left both by hand and electronic device.

    Yes.

    1. The research and development is done by YOU.
    2. If you consider your wife’s dining room table as your “workbench”, it would be be much better to engage professional assistance and stay the safe road by having “your mechanic” replace it for you using an original one. HOA’s, buying service contracts for everything, landscaping services, etc. Besides you might get something on the driveway and your insignificant other may not approve.
    3. Jack is a great guy. You will find much fanboy fawning over him. However he is just a man. And you should be one, too- and not some owned fanboy b!tch.

Hi there, I am having some issues with my NexPower battery installation. It seems to be extremely loose when I torque the pressure bars to spec. They move all over when I rotate the battery to place the sensors back, any suggestions?
