Not sure where to put this but have y'all seen the 2024 Prius GR that'll be used for the 2024 LeMans race? I'm hoping they do sell some to the public...look at those wheels and spoiler and 8 fog lights!!
Choosing the Limited for the stereo upgrade would end in disappointment IMO. Staying w/ the XLE and investing the money you saved into an aftermarket solution and you'd likely have the best sound system in your zip code.
According to the 2024 Specs Table on the Toyota site, the JBL speakers are standard on the Limited and not available on the other trim levels. On my 2023 Limited, the sound with the JBL setup is OK but not exceptional. If this is a substantial upgrade on the standard audio, then the standard sound must be dreadful. Alternatively, you're just buying the brand and minor improvements. If you can find a dealer with a Limited on display and one of the other trim levels, you should run a comparison before deciding that the JBL system is a must-have.
Some dealers are already showing 2024 models on their websites, which will arrive as early as late October/early November. Toyota has been lazy about updating their main website and inventory website. Well @daisy555 et al, guess what! There were already several types of black interiors for 2023. For example for LE, there is FB 10 as well as FB 20. They are both black/graphite.
I guess 2024 specs could show up any day on Toyota.com. ***Edit*** 2024 is up on website. Gradient black and no JBL. Except once you click on it to build everything says 2023. Whoever’s in charge of their website needs to get their act together. You would think they would make all the corrections at once. Maybe by tomorrow.
A 2024 Prius Prime Limited with VIN JTDACAAU8R3015232 just appeared on the Toyota inventory website. So, they skipped Q and went from P (2023) to R (2024). Only ~ 15,000 were produced for this mode line in the 2023 model year, and the serial numbers continue from there. Toyota inventory | New-Toyota inventory search
I hope you aren't inferring that someone hasn't been on the list for months and months waiting .... .
thanks. And yes, the link works. doesn't look like any changes. Maybe supply will improve once the 2024's start showing up.
I don’t understand how you are seeing this. It must be based on location. When I go to that link all I see is a few 2023. Probably because I’m in New England. Salesman did not return my text when I inquired about next allocation. He’s good about details when he responds but not the best at following up unlike other dealerships further away that wouldn’t leave me alone. I’m sure he wasn’t thrilled that I didn’t buy that first Prius. Plus being a picky customer on a tight budget is not fun for anyone involved. : ) Still trying to make a decision on tires for my 2009. Walmart has a great price on General RT45 but I’m afraid to get them installed there. Checking with my regular tire store today to see if their price matching includes Walmart. The $50-60 tires scare me. If I could find tires at that price that wouldn’t compromise fuel economy and had solid reviews I would be ok. Now I see Tirebuyer has Toyo Extensa at the same price as Generals at Walmart.
Costco? Frequently MY answer to such questions... and aren't there tire rebates on? They may seem a bit pricier, but Michelin Cross Climates are great ALL WEATHER TIRES. Much better in winter than std all seasons-almost as good as dedicated WINTER tires.
Thanks. I guess I shouldn’t be so concerned if I’m not keeping this car but I’m trying to find a tire that’s not reviewed as noisy so my 2009 doesn’t sound noisier than it already is. : )
I don’t have a Costco near by that sells tires unfortunately. If I was keeping this car, I would be trying Michelin next. I’m shopping for pricing since I’m hoping to get tires at my regular tire store since they owe me an alignment. They won’t match Costco or BJ’s. Thanks
Fair point. Audio is so subjective, and "good sound" means different things to different people. Someone who listens to hip hop might want the deep thump of a large subwoofer, but someone else who listens to primarily acoustic music might be interested in different sonics. I will just need to listen to both systems before I buy. I'd definitely be a bit hesitant to have some kid at Best Buy tear apart a new car and possibly create a short somewhere. I've heard stories....
That’s my fear regarding doing my own upgrade. I guess I’ll learn to deal with the standard stereo. Just surprised Toyota doesn’t offer the JBL upgrade. Maybe historically not enough interest.
Yes, I checked within 500 miles of my LA County Zip code. Currently, I see 45 LE, 85 XLE, 55 Limited, 3 LE AWD, 16 XLE AWD, and 9 Limited AWD 2024 models. Should we say you will get a 2025?
Oh please no!!! I could have been a year into driving a 2022 by now! : ) Hopefully I will get it by the new year.
