Why can't you just go to a wrecker and get the metal plate the impeller goes into and toss the one that's stuck? I mean all this fuss over something that can be replaced rather than re-used. It makes no sense?

Good point. I may do that. I’ve tried torch heat, wd40, and sandpaper. It seems to be stuck on the inner diameter where the metal prong it. I can get it out about an 1/8 inch and can also slide a thin credit card on the outer diameter between the impeller and the plastic on the pump housing but no budge

That's enough room for an air compressor to blast it out...

How about a pen knife? Preferably one that's extra long and extra narrow...

Lol... I have two of those tools... Didn't think of suggesting it because it seemed like more than you'd need.

Can you please post a few pictures of the white plastic on the end of the impeller that you removed?

The outside white plastic was fine. It was the inner diameter (against the shaft) that the plastic pealed off and caused it to be stuck

Very interesting. This is the first time that I heard that the problem was on the inside diameter. Thank you.

Yeah it was about a centimeter wide ring and that’s what was causing it no to be able to slide off

Did the shaft get damaged? Were you able to clean it up to make it smooth?

You can buy those water pump rebuild kits on eBay as well, it's just the magnet and the impeller piece swap out. Or spend the whopping $275 for a new OEM pump and be done with it. This is not something you want to risk..

I know exactly what you’re going through and I have the same problem. I’m going to try to drill two holes on either side down into the metal and put an easy out in each one that way it’ll be a balance pull and it should come out. The magnets are just holding it in there and there’s really no way to pride out because the impellers gone.

I have the same problem. I read through all of these responses and I’m not sure anybody really understands. Here’s what I did. Drill a small hole close to the center of what’s left, using thread cutting oil and go slowly. Get yourself a small easy out, and gently put it in there, tapping it with a hammer if you need to, and twisting until it’s firmly in. Use a small flat bladed screwdriver wedged in the side if you need to keep it from spinning while you’re working on it. Then spray a little WD-40 down in the middle, laid on its side and gently twist and move it around until it comes out. Mine was very difficult because it melted a piece of plastic to the shaft from the impeller. That’s what was keeping it stuck in there.
