Health provider's say the vaccine cannot give you covid. No ifs ands or buts, cannot. Not one person has gotten covid from the vaccine.
The neighbors want me to say something to see which side I am on. Or start an argument. I guess they know anyway by the lack of agreement. But at least I avoid the argument which they very much want to have. Otherwise no issues with them.

I had 6 Covid vaccinations. Pfizer and Moderna. Still got Covid last month because the virus mutated and wasn't prevented by the anti-bodies I had developed. Hod I had the most recent (about 2 weeks from getting it)....

The tests they do don't tell you the variant.

The mRNA vaccines, which are the only ones now available in North America, simply don't have anywhere near the full genetic information needed to make the virus, so the vaccine itself simply cannot spread the disease, even in theory.

But the person administering the vaccine could have the disease and pass it on. Or someone else nearby could do so.

Worldwide, several dozen covid-19 vaccines were developed, most of them of more traditional types, not mRNA. I believe it is much more theoretically possible that some of them could occasionally cause the disease, as some versions of 'inactivated virus' vaccines against other diseases sometimes used to do in the U.S.

mRNA versus inactivated virus COVID-19 vaccines in multiple sclerosis: Humoral responses and protectivity—Does it matter?

A total of 1484 pwMS (1387 treated, 97 untreated) and 185 healthy controls were included in the analyses (male/female: 544/1125). Of those, 852 (51.05%) received BioNTech, and 817 (48.95%) received Sinovac. mRNA and inactivated virus vaccines result in similar seropositivity; however, the BioNTech vaccination group had significantly higher antibody titers (7.175±10.074) compared with the Sinovac vaccination group (823±1.774) (p<0.001). PwMS under ocrelizumab, fingolimod, and cladribine treatments had lower humoral responses compared with the healthy controls in both vaccine types. After a mean of 327±16 days, 246/704 (34.9%) of pwMS who were contacted had COVID-19 infection, among whom 83% had asymptomatic or mild disease. There was no significant difference in infection rates of COVID-19 between participants vaccinated with BioNTech or Sinovac vaccines. Furthermore, regression analyses show that no association was found regarding age, sex, Expanded Disability Status Scale score (EDSS), the number of vaccination, DMT type, or humoral antibody responses with COVID-19 infection rate and disease severity, except BMI Body mass index (BMI).

    Conclusion
mRNA and inactivated virus vaccines had similar seropositivity; however, mRNA vaccines appeared to be more effective in producing SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibodies. B-cell-depleting therapies fingolimod and cladribine were associated with attenuated antibody titer. mRNA and inactive virus vaccines had equal long-term protectivity against COVID-19 infection regardless of the antibody status.

I would have expected the deactivated virus would be more effective. Speculation but some of the viral proteins might be what we called "honeypots" designed to lure in attackers and waste their efforts.

    Good news, bad news:

A new study has an encouraging message for Americans who shy away from Covid shots because of worries about side effects: The chills, fatigue, headache and malaise that can follow vaccination may be signs of a vigorous immune response.

People who had those side effects after the second dose of a Covid vaccine had more antibodies against the coronavirus at one month and six months after the shot, compared with those who did not have symptoms, according to the new study. Increases in skin temperature and heart rate also signaled higher antibody levels.

“We know that vaccine uptake can be challenging, and in some cases, it can be so because some people have strong reactions to the vaccine,” said Aric Prather, a clinical psychologist at the University of California, San Francisco, who led the study.

“My hope is that this actually helps assuage some of those concerns,” said Dr. Prather, who studies how behavioral factors affect the immune system. “In fact, those symptoms, though they may be unpleasant, may actually be working for you.”

My military travels took me to Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America - so my shot card was a little thicker than some of my contemporaries.
As something of a student of history, I'm familiar with the relationship between inoculations and the military.
Smallpox impacted the Continental Army severely during the Revolutionary War, so much so that George Washington mandated inoculations for all Continental soldiers in 1777.
My last year in the USN was punctuated with a MANDATORY flu shot.

I'm only 'anti-vax' in America.....where six vaccinations for a disease that many of us have had more than twice would seem to be an IQ test (or a pharma enrichment scheme) rather than a vaccination programme.
I'm planning on getting my flu shot in 2 weeks or so.

    Another Covid shot?

    Nah.
    Not now, thanks.

There's a REASON that the 'vid shot is as politicized as it is.

I'm GLAD that, like the flu shot, they're widely available.
I'm ALSO glad that I can pass on getting my 3rd covid shot - for now.

My military experience made a different impact on me. In basic training I remember standing in huge lines waiting for my turn in the pneumatic shot gun line. Vaccinations and shots in both arms. No need to know exactly what the shots were just shut up get in line and get it done. This was during the Vietnam war some time ago when recruit input was neither wanted nor required but a special recipe for 'extra attention' from DI's.

Even today shots are no big deal as I had so many while in the military. Getting the recent Covid shot was a no brainer for me.

They trained us well back then - 50 years later I can sound off my Social Security Number or AFSC at the drop of a hat.

Good info, not likely to sway thinking from my encounters with no vaxx for me folks. It’s good to get a strong reaction. That’s what you want.

News ! anyone else notice how bad it's getting lately or has been historically?
I wouldn't presume to know what goes on in the minds of journalist or the motives connected to published reports in any sector. Perhaps other than to get attention of like minded readers.
ie: do you believe this or that.
Just taking a look at multiple sector report headlines, along with the article content ( if even consumed ) should be a small clue.

    is it really NEWS?
translation : is it Spectacular enough to get everyday people believing thar it is special enough to hear in the already over loaded judicial systems docket.
Perhaps I shouldn't have bothered commenting if this one peeks an emotional reaction.

Sorry I posted. I get more confused with each additional post.

    Just to be clear:

    The lawsuit is ridiculous.
    The premise is ridiculous.
The person filing it is ridiculous.

My point in posting it - to see if anyone felt the way I did.

My mistake - thinking any comment these days isn't politically loaded and an opportunity for someone to grind their own particular axe.

    It won't happen again.
