    If they tried that, I'd flip it on them, and say I does that enhancement fee come in a black or brown bag full of blow. Just seeing how you are negotiating on this one.

    If you let them know you're coming in from out of state, they know they have a motivated "mark"...sorry, buyer.

    It makes it easier for them to mess you around at the last minute, knowing you're committed to a plane ticket, hotel etc.

    @Valencia Orange Just out of curiosity, how did they find you originally? Or did you find them?

    There might be some Honda/Toyota models you could still do that with, but not the new gen 23 Prius or Prius Prime!

    Didn't some cars, mostly luxury, actually have a summer or desert package that added things like solar powered venting for when the car was parked? Heated seats were once part of a winter package.

    That is the one feature from my 2010 that I miss in my 2023, didn't really realize how much of a difference it made (even up here in Canada) but boy does the 2023 get hot fast, the remote start with AC is nice to counter it but was nice to just have the solar venting

    This isn't new. When we ordered our Camry last August, they had a waiting list because the dealership was the only one in the area that didn't charge a $2000+ "convenience+ fee. We got the car because someone else backed out and we were willing to take a less desirable color (I actually like it now) that what we had originally requested.

    I'm keeping my fingers crossed that these guys I'm getting the Prius from will follow through on the verbal agreement we made. as I've said, I'll believe I have it when I have the key(s) and am driving off the lot with it. Convenience fee, my a$$.

    I buy from the dealer with the right car and the best deal.
    Sometimes it’s the same dealer, mostly it isn’t because dealers make deals out of necessity, not loyalty

    I hope you like it as much as we do. We had about 50 trips of nearly 200 miles roundtrip in the first 2 months we owned the car. It is amazing.

    we love them. this is our third since 2008, and each one is more refined. and the price didn't go up that much since our 2013, which is pretty amazing. currently averaging 55 mpg on the dash, but we've hit 60 several times.

    Give it a couple of years. This new business tactic of Toyota to keep the production low to jack up prices won't last too long with the competition making more affordable cars and government incentives to domestic EVs flowing.

    When I bought my Gen 4 Prius Prime, I got close to $10,000 in rebates and credits. Now, it's not only that there are no rebates or credits on Toyotas, they are trying to charge a $10,000 over MSRP. With the price I would be paying for a Gen 5 now, I would get two Gen 4s back then. So, I probably won't buy a Gen 5 even if the prices come down, especially given the current dismal macroeconomic situation.

    Why not buy a BEV with tax credits instead? You don't have a place to plug it in?
