Bought a new 12V battery and the triangle of death wouldn't go away so took the bite and ordered a refurbished and rebalanced hybrid from reputable source. I do have the orange emergency lock on hybrid battery installed properly and all the connections I checked twice so and there are no loose harness and wire that I can see so what can it be?

Get the error codes and clear them... Or just clear them by disconnecting 12v battery for a few minutes.

I had the 12V battery off for a whole week while I was waiting for my refurbished hybrid battery. Soon as I turned it on, the codes came back on right away. I disconnected 12V again to make sure everything on hybrid was properly connected, even re-did the orange hybrid lock and put the negative back on 12V and started engine and codes came back on right away

Get Techstream to read the codes and sub codes. Without these it's guesswork.

Hey thanks for your response. I did a quick research and it seems like Techstream only takes certain Windows edition. I belive my laptop is a windows 7

Instead you could buy a Bluetooth OBD2 code reader for less than $20 and that will allow you to use your phone to run apps like Dr. Prius, Car Scanner, Hybrid Assisstant, etc.

Veepeak makes a good OBD2 reader...

Hey thx for your response. I do have a bluetooth scanner along with Dr Prius and Torque Pro. It showed P0A80 weak hybrid battery but after replacement with refurbished (reputable seller and ea volt was 7.8V avg)it wasnt it. Im thinking somewhere along the hybrid system something other than the battery is at fault. I did check whatever connections I can and it was good buaybe something somewhere is loose or somehow corroded even though all the bus bar I replaced as well

You can buy cheap refurbished laptops with Windows 10 on eBay and Amazon. And use one as your Techstream platform. Techstream has a lot more capability than any apps. These cars are quite complex and knowing the exact fault codes and subcodes can narrow down the issues and get you the best advice. This may not be quick and easy but repairs to these cars are rarely quick and easy. Good luck.

You have codes somewhere. You need a more capable scantool to read those codes and data. Here's a thread that reviews several scantool apps and devices. Some are capable of scanning all systems on a Gen2 Prius.

Another option is Techstream. There's the "legit" version that's a X dollars for Y days of use, plus you need a Vehicle Communication Interface cable. There's many hacked versions on the web (that have cheap VCIs). Or you can search this forum (I think around mid 2022) for a thread about Techstream Virtual Machine (VM) downloads (you'd still need a VCI).

Well since you want to do a lot of looking and playing around depending upon the year look at your orange plug that goes to your HV battery computer You see the brown corrosion and nonsense? If so pull the 10 or 8 mm screws I think there's three unplug the plugs withdraw the computer take the cover off the top of it spray it with electrical contact cleaner You can look at the board with a lupe or magnifying glass and see if you see any fubar areas on the board after you clean the plug and it's bars that run to the board on the back of the plug look at the buildup some small brushes will clean that up One of my battery guys claims that wants to start to these computers they'll be throwing codes randomly forever Not sure if I really believe this type of thing because the few that I've cleaned have never thrown a code again waiting for their respective batteries to die or whatever.

I heard the wiring harness is sometimes gone.
I found this video helpful. It explains how corrosion can wick from the module terminals through the wiring, and even to the battery computer connector.
