Is there an inside trunk or hatch release button or pull lever for the 2023 Prius XLE?

There's likely an emergency release, just below the latch mechanism, but that's not for everday use.

According to the Toyota.com website, the Limited is the only trim level with a powered hatch lift. You can open it using the key fob or by pushing and holding a strip on the hatch exterior (next to the lock button.) This is the same strip used to unlock and start a manual lift on tin older generations and probably on the other trim levels. You can also have it lift via a dash button after unlocking the car.

Weird. the XSE has a dash button for opening the back lift, right next to the gas release.

XSE Premium does, not the regular XSE.

    SE - no
    XLE/XSE - no
    LTD/XSE+ - yes

I don't know if it's the answer the OP was looking for, but there is an emergency release. It's difficult to get to and use, so it's not for everyday use, but it is there if a person needs it. There's a panel at the bottom of the rear door. You pop that off, use a screwdriver to loosen a screw, move a cover out of the way, then pull a little lever down.

Well, I had my first dead battery on my 2024 Prius prime XLE, I tried to open the rear hatch by opening the little plastic cover and it seems you need to remove a metal cover over the release lever. So in an emergency to open the rear hatch from the inside you need to carry a Philips screwdriver with you at all times. I am not impressed with my new car. If a window gets out of sync because of a dead battery you have to return the car to the dealer to be fixed.

Where did that nugget come from? I don't recall windows needing attention after 12V loss. Maybe if you're operating them and the battery gives up while you're doing it?

And the window reinitialization procedure is in the manual:

If the side window cannot be opened and closed even when performing the above operations, perform the following procedure for function initialization.
    1. Turn the power switch to ON.
    2. Pull and hold the power window switch in the one-touch closing direction and completely close the side window.
    3. Release the power window switch for a moment, resume pulling the switch in the one-touch closing direction, and hold it there for approximately 6 seconds or more.
    4. Press and hold the power window switch in the one-touch opening direction. After the side window is completely opened, continue holding the switch for an additional 1 second or more.
    5. Release the power window switch for a moment, resume pushing the switch in the one-touch opening direction, and hold it there for approximately 4 seconds or more.
    6. Pull and hold the power window switch in the one-touch closing direction again. After the side window is completely closed, continue holding the switch for a further 1 second or more.
If you release the switch while the side window is moving, start again from the beginning.

If the side window reverses and cannot be fully closed or opened, have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
