My 2017 is just fine with room and the EUV more so. Some don't like the seats in the early Bolts, but they've been ok for me for the last three years. I do have to say that the new seats are a bit nicer.
I've been on the Bolt site a few years now. It's funny, but to me, the Bolt and the Bolt EUV drive as if they're from two different companies. The EUV feels more refined in driving than the EV.
A friend of mine just bought a 2019 Bolt. After a drive from north of Tampa down to Venice & back they said their seats were killing them. They each got a piece of foam about 2" thick that really helped. My amazing wife cut them to fit and upholstered them. We'll see how they do on their upcoming trip to Ohio. The seats in my EUV are just fine. But the driver's seat in my 2013 PiP was murder. They had a 2013 PiP and loved the seats, even on a trip to California.
i suspect the bolt seats will feel like an upgrade from the pip, which have been fine for me, but i don't drive long distances
PIP seats were never an issue for us, Prime either, on the long trips to Wyoming. Perhaps it affects some more than others simply from not taking breaks as often.
i think it's more physiology than anything else. every car my wife has tried hurts her back except for the hycam. many people here have complained about prius seats over the last 20 years, even just for commuting, but most are happy with them.
Guess they had more time to devote to that during development. Perhaps it comes down to the few extra inches of wheelbase. And assumptions on the designers' part on how people sit in a car.
PIP seats would be same as any gen 3 I think. I found them ok. We don’t do super long trips though. First spring we did around 700 kms into BC interior, that's the longest road trip. Too, more often than not our "road trips" involve a significant ferry portion.
even our hycam seats can get angry on a 600 mile day with few stops. i'm sure lexus is better. i did like the way the tesla side bolsters locked you in.
when we hit the dc beltway after driving all day, and it's bumper to bumper so i can't use cruise, my ciatic can act up. i keep changing the seat position, pillow behind the back, left foot on the brake, etc.
More leg room for one thing. My knee kept hitting the door panel on both Gen 3 Prii. The Prii had a little more cargo room, but not a lot more.
i'll be interested in the hatch floor depth distance from inside the hatch to the back seats, compared to my pip
this is in transit to a dealer 50 miles from me. still available, i'm considering canceling my order. different exterior color, but the exact same package VehicleSearchResults
It's definitely the right color. If it has the options you want and you can afford it, why wait for an order that might get delayed?
I didn't need breaks in the Prime other than for the bathroom or for food. Three consecutive 750 miles days didn't bother either of us other than just general fatigue from the long days. With the PiP, I had to take frequent breaks. But it didn't help. As @El Dobro said, it's a little less in the Bolt than a Gen 2, 3, or 4 Prius, assuming the under floor space is available inthe Prius. It s about the same as the Prime, I think. But I never measured. I guess the numbers are out there somewhere. My EUV measures 25" in the center from the base of the rear seat back to the plastic sill by the latch. On the ends, it's 23." But the height is greater than on a Prius because there's less slope. Under the deck, I don't have Super Cruise or a fancy sound system gobbling up that space. The front-back measurements are a fraction of an inch less than above the deck. My full size spare slides right down in there with way more than enough room for jack, tools, rags, etc.
