2022 Bolt EUV Initial impressions

I own a Land Rover........those stats are correct.....LOL.

 

My 2017 is just fine with room and the EUV more so. Some don't like the seats in the early Bolts, but they've been ok for me for the last three years. I do have to say that the new seats are a bit nicer.

 

I've been on the Bolt site a few years now.

It's funny, but to me, the Bolt and the Bolt EUV drive as if they're from two different companies. The EUV feels more refined in driving than the EV.

 

i suspect the bolt seats will feel like an upgrade from the pip, which have been fine for me, but i don't drive long distances

 

PIP seats were never an issue for us, Prime either, on the long trips to Wyoming. Perhaps it affects some more than others simply from not taking breaks as often.

 

i think it's more physiology than anything else. every car my wife has tried hurts her back except for the hycam.
many people here have complained about prius seats over the last 20 years, even just for commuting, but most are happy with them.

 

PiP seats sucked for me.

 

How does the roominess of a Bolt EUV inside and cargo capacity compare with a Prius?

 

Guess they had more time to devote to that during development. Perhaps it comes down to the few extra inches of wheelbase.

And assumptions on the designers' part on how people sit in a car.

 

perhaps, but i'm sure cost is a large part of it.

 

PIP seats would be same as any gen 3 I think. I found them ok. We don’t do super long trips though. First spring we did around 700 kms into BC interior, that's the longest road trip. Too, more often than not our "road trips" involve a significant ferry portion.

 

even our hycam seats can get angry on a 600 mile day with few stops. i'm sure lexus is better.
i did like the way the tesla side bolsters locked you in.

 

I find my right foot tends to seize up. And then recovers, work through it lol.

 

when we hit the dc beltway after driving all day, and it's bumper to bumper so i can't use cruise, my ciatic can act up.
i keep changing the seat position, pillow behind the back, left foot on the brake, etc.

 

More leg room for one thing. My knee kept hitting the door panel on both Gen 3 Prii. The Prii had a little more cargo room, but not a lot more.

 

i'll be interested in the hatch floor depth distance from inside the hatch to the back seats, compared to my pip

 

this is in transit to a dealer 50 miles from me. still available, i'm considering canceling my order.
