Your link / reference is not where that chart is from... When you click on it you go to some dumb fluff piece about how Toyota profits are soaring because of their usual corruption and there's no information about vehicle sales like you have in the chart.

And how is it that all those cars are selling better than #1 selling car in the world in the Tesla Model Y, as well as other Tesla models selling in the top 10?

I guess according to the unreferenced people who created this data that actual honesty / accuracy in vehicles purchased doesn't matter much as long as they don't mention Tesla, which doesn't support the stealership agenda?

Low inventory is usually the best that can happen (with some exceptions) - its not a problem but the ideal case for a dealer. Or any business?

Dont you want to sell your stuff?

Its really hard to follow your trail of thought - many of these statistics are kinda public. There is no
conspiracy. And Tesla just sells like 4 different models - of course its sells a lot of especially the Tesla Y. But in overall numbers they are still quite small in the US

That's absurd, when people from nearly every region in the US are regularly on here complaining about being on a waiting list for a Toyota for a year or longer, that's not "ideal" for someone trying to make something they want to sell as many of as possible.

As for Tesla, can you see how absurd it is that the #1 most purchased car in the world isn't on the above unreferenced list? Tesla builds over a half million cars a year and somehow ya'll trying to tell me that Mazda & Subaru who are selling less than that per year are selling more cars?

When we bought in 2010 the dealership was awash in Prius. We picked a silver Touring that was hemmed in by other vehicles, all dusty, a dead bird on the ground beside it. :)

Tesla Model Y is not in the list because its not a car manufacture.
And Tesla is not in the list because its behind top 5.

The list is incomplete anyway as it misses many manufacturers that dont have numbers published for the last month (yet)
Here is the list for Q2:

how is it possible that sales have gone up so much this year, and still no inventory building up?

I wish we had awards for most ridiculous things written on PriusChat!

It's so retro of you to pretend Tesla doesn't make cars... Like how all the oil-igarachs tried to convince everyone for more than a century because they thought they were powerful enough to ensure electric cars wouldn't ever be allowed to compete with their planet destroying air pollution ever since the first Detroit electric car came to the world's fair in Seattle in 1918 where it drove more than 100 miles away from the city up to Mt. Rainier to prove that fossil fuels were totally unnecessary even way back then.

Yep... Toyota contorted itself into an overly-salted pretzel writing that particular dishonest press release... Perhaps the most insulting part of it all in light of everyone on here who has complained about near zero available inventory and long waiting lists at their local stealership for years is when these con artists say:

"We continue to focus on customers' needs with several new and refreshed products in the first half of the year, including the all-new Toyota Crown and the Lexus brand's first fully electric vehicle, the RZ 450e," said Jack Hollis, executive vice president, Sales, TMNA. "Our teams are working around the clock to get vehicles into customers' hands and they can expect even more exciting and electrified products later this year, including the all-new Grand Highlander, Toyota Tacoma and a new nameplate from Lexus, the TX."

OH my God ...."Our teams are working around the clock to get vehicles into customers' hands....well in Canada the clock Has stopped !
expected wait time for a RAV4Prime is about 2 years ,worst case 2 and a half year ! the insulting part is that they declare : we continue to focus on customers'needs......with these long waiting list ..some customers will vanish into thin air.

Another great example... Waiting 2 years to buy their most trendy car while their PR department pushes conflated numbers that are hard to make sense of regarding a boost in production and profits. There's just so many red flags with Toyota right now that if there was an economic downturn it's pretty well certain that they're way more overexposed than other auto makers and may well implode.

This clumping of car types with an electric drive train component is common in industry and the press. Reports of China going EV only tend not to mention that mild hybrids will still be available for instance.

The number of cars sold by a car manufacturing corporation is brought up, and you mistakenly take as a number for individual car models sold. When someone points out your error, you post this.

Ha ha bisco ... we are both read the same documentary, I am sure ...and as much as I understand the why the outsource of 70 to Japan, we do have very connected (one way) US -Japan and collaborate politically somewhat...

Nobody on either side of US -China can trust the other side :)
And any of us do know how Japan proud of they work ( just like US, Germany, Holland, Taiwan and a lot of other country ... ) .
I am still waiting for China to build anything and stand behind they work.
Of course, we are all being wrong before .

I guess all the short sellers in Toyota stock are getting restless?
