I don't know where those part numbers are from. I got your 2012 part numbers from my local Toyota dealer, parts.longotoyota.com

 

In Toyota’s Brake Pads application chart (PDF) from last year, the part numbers for Prius cars are listed at the bottom of page 3. Toyota dealers in the U.S. sell two grades of brake pads: OEM equivalent, listed as “Current Kit” in the chart; and TCMC (“Toyota Complete Maintenance Care”), at lower cost.

The part numbers @JC91006 kindly mentioned are those of the OEM equivalent front and rear brake pad kits, list prices $104.50 and $59.04, respectively. The TCMC front brake pad kit is 04465-AZ123, list price $58.00, and the chart doesn’t list a TCMC rear brake pad kit for 2012 Prius cars.

Part number 04466-AZ213 is a TCMC rear brake pad kit. The parts.toyota.com website says it fits third- and fourth-generation Prius models, among many others, but that site is maintained for Toyota by a third party and may not be a reliable source. I’d suggest asking your dealer to check the latest Toyota bulletins to confirm the application.

Part number 04466-47101 is an OEM equivalent rear brake pad kit for late third- and early fourth-generation Prius cars; I don’t believe it would be used on a 2012 model.

My Prius has 05/2009 manufacture date, which was tricky to figure out. It was originally 47020, but replaced with 76012:

Naturally they didn't bother to list my manufacture date under the 76012 fitments!

I, too, have the question what is the difference between the 3 rear pad numbers?

All 3G Prius use the same front brake pads.

I believe there are 3 part numbers for OEM rear brake pads listed (not including TCMC):

04466-76012: 2010-2011 Prius (possibly including early 2012)
04466-47080: 2012-2013 Prius (possibly incl. late 2011 and early 2014)
04466-47101: 2014-2015 Prius (possibly incl late 2013)

Technically, these will fit all 3G Prius, regardless of model year.

Using the information I researched for shock absorber changes and part numbers, these different model production ranges for these pads coincides with the different shock absorber changes for the model years. I'm guessing maybe it's different pad compounds that affect brake balance based on the shocks' valving? I'd think the different shock tuning would NOT solicit different pads, but you never know.

FYI, All 3G Prius use the same front springs, incl Plug-in, and all 3G Prius use the same rear springs, except Plug-in, which uses different rear springs for 2012-13, and 2014-15, and the shocks vary with the model years the same as the brake p/ns

There is a TSB from 2012/13 that states 04466-47080 is the replacement pad for 2010-2011 and early 2012 Prius that exhibit uneven pad wear. However, this TSB part # was released before 04466-76012 became available. So possibly 04466-76012 addressed this issue.

 

Just take your vin number to Toyota and they will give you the correct pads...

 

That doesn't explain the DIFFERENCE between the model years' pads...

 

They are just updates.
