Most oft the time I drive with a connected Hybrid Assistent app. Now I used Dr Prius for a tour and I realized that the battery-fan is not spinning. Only the Hybrid Assistent can activate the fan. Howcome? What did I change? I didn't try to restart the engine during this issue. What's the reason for this?
Unfortunately even a restart of the engine wouldn't start the fan by itself. I need Hybrid Assistant App to activate it. I had the battery out of the vehicle once. Is it possible, that I did a mistake putting it back together?
If it was corrosion creating an open circuit, wouldn't HA also find it impossible to run the fan? Normally, without an app controlling it, the HV battery fan runs at one of 6 predetermined speeds based on the current battery temperature, and it is very quiet at the lower of those 6 speeds. Most people only hear it when it is running full tilt, such as on a particularly hot day, or if they're using the HA app. It may just be that you're used to the noise when the fan is being run via HA, and it's relative quietness during normal operation (when not being run by HA) is giving you the impression that it isn't running at all.
At 45(+)°C the fan should be spinning full speed, right? There was really no sound coming from back there. Unfortunately it's been some critical temperatures in the battery today.
