Might be the first reviewer that gets on Toyota for omitting a spare tire

Has this one been posted already? I learned a few interesting details. He shares everything that annoys him but still likes it. :)

This one is new (I think?) and has a different take on some of the issues, if you have the patience to watch the full hour.

Could you elaborate? I actually like this video as it stands out from all the other "just used it a few hours" reviewers given he actually used the car for a longer period.

Most of the time when you see a "Is it worth the hype video", you're gonna get a negative slant. Perhaps it's just a marketing angle to entertain all the haters.

I don't want to watch it again to point out all the details, but he was constantly criticizing a car that is by most accounts, a remarkable redesign achievement. And many of the reviewers I've watched said they had the car for a week also. I think that's pretty standard.

He pretty much describes it as fact that this is an uncomfortable car to drive any distance. That goes against just about every other opinion on the planet, including my own. He even describes the increased HP in a critical manner: "I didn't think it was gonna make that much of a difference". o_O

He also was advising people to drive with the car in engine brake mode, so I'll add that he doesn't know what he's talking about to his annoyingly negative slant.

    @Preebee
I thought he painted an overall quite positive image - just that he was more into bigger cars which I can understand. I saw other reviews were people are just praising everything for 15min - they seem very fishy to me. The enginge brake mode (B) is some misinformation people seem to spread everywhere unfortunately.

As for the review time, I think standard is to rent the car for one day or just get it from Toyota as press car during some event. I mean that makes sense for channels that have a new car every day. And here people are very positiv as they want to be invited again.

I barely saw long term reviews that go into depth - e.g. showing the mysterious traffic jam assist. Interestingly some details I only saw in asian reviews, as the focus seems to be different there. Like the "easy entry assistance" of the drivers seat.

EDIT: here they call it courtesy entry:

I really like Matt's reviews of the Prius. He's a veteran Youtuber with a wide range of automobile test experience, therefore his opinions should come from good perspective.

Not a real review but I think the first one, where they tried the automatic parking:

    I saw this!

It was a great study of irrational behavior. Everybody but one picked the car that would undoubtedly lead to their financial ruin, or at best, donning walking shoes. The human ego is real.

The crazy thing about the new Prius is that it's still a very smart decision, AND it gives some fuel to the ego and other normally impulsive/unproductive pleasure centers. These are rare moments in life when you come across them.

Those who are in the high tax states/countries offering large subsidies for the Prime (and other EVs), you are almost fiscally obligated to take advantage as a way to reclaim your taxed income.

I pretty much agree with the pros and cons in this review.

One question, if anyone knows, is it true that the FCTA (think that is Front cross traffic assist?) safety feature can not be turned off permanently, that is, that it resets every time after you turn it off? Forcing you to go through the many buttons on the MID display. I have not turned it off but am finding it to be too sensitive, scares me every time it goes off and not really helpful. As far as I can tell so far.
