    Hey All,
Now that I’ve owned my 2012 C for 6 months or so, I’d like to mention some flaws that I wish Toyota didn’t/should do.. feel free to chime in with your own.

    1) The annoying “Passenger air bag off” light on all the time unless you have a passenger. Seriously.. to have a light on and having to look at it is just stupid. Older cars used to be able to turn that off.

    2) Not having a permanently on button for the cruise control. I’m not talking about the setting of the cruise control, I’m talking about having to turn on the cruise control just to set it. Again, older cars have a cruise button that you turn on once and your done.

    3) Why on earth do we need 2 screens for Eco score? They’ve wasted a screen that could’ve shown stuff like coolant temp, oil temp, tire pressures etc etc.

    4) Having to push the button for EV mode. DUMB! Our cars should go into EV automatically when going under 10mph.. and then once you go above it, go into Eco or whatever you want.

    5) Those ridiculous black roof strips.. do yours fly out when driving fast or going through a car wash?

That about all I can think of for now.. I love my car, but these are some things that are irritating.

Would like to hear some more if you have any.

You'll be equally irritated by my regular Prius liftback too. And even my slightly newer Subaru.

It's more nuanced. Toyotas have an occupant classification system which is used to disable selective airbags if the system thinks the seat occupant is <79lbs, i.e. a child. So the dash readout is useful to have overall, but I think they could have made the default condition less distracting.

I've driven lots of cars that needed the cruise relay closed and latched each time the car was started. Can't say I remember any other way.

No problems with that on ours, guess they got it sorted out in the middle years.

Do you actually enjoy picking things apart like this and being "irritated" about what you find ?

I have all of those same things in the C's I have owned and find NONE of them rise to the level of "irritating".

Several things that you have listed are common to a LOT of different models these days.

The EV button is worthless so just ignore it.

You forgot to mention the lack of a "courtesy light" in the back seat.
    Now THAT irritates me.

Not really. They shrink and harden with age and sun exposure.
If you keep yours long enough, those strips will likely start flapping in the breeze.......and in the car wash.......too.

try tacking them on with silicone adhesive. not too much so you can remove them to fix the gutter leaks :p

Hmm I wouldn't use silicone against auto paint.

There is good, paint-safe butyl adhesive for this purpose. Try 3M 08061.

The battery placement / style.. for the 12v. I mean i'm glad it's not in the trunk under all your stuff to get to it..
but it's kind of annoying under the seat like that.. Also too bad it doesn't have a bigger traction battery and plug in ability.
I have a chevy volt now.. the C gave me a strong desire for an EV.

I'm thinking though, my over all fuel travel costs would probably still be better with a C.. I'm looking to buy another C to add to the stable.

Also they should have added a button that lets the traction battery jump start the 12v like ford did in their old SUV. I mean it's got a converter to charge it why not have a button to allow it manually when you need a jump.
what a scam that it doesnt have that.
