Is Gen 5 Prius really better-looking than Gen 4 Prius Prime?

Here is my 2021 Prius Prime Limited Blue Magnetism (Spirited Aqua Metallic) shining like a jewel at night, despite being very dirty.
    • I like the headlight, taillight, and bumper designs on my Gen 4 Prius Prime better.
    • Gen 4 mirrors are color-matched but not the Gen 5 mirrors.
    • Gen 5 has no fog lights.
    • Gen 5 has larger wheels, albeit with not-so-attractive wheel covers.
    • Gen 5 probably looks better from the side.
    • Gen 4 has a more distinguished look, whereas Gen 5 looks like a Honda Civic.
    • Head-up display in Gen 4 but no head-up display in Gen 5, and the dash display is hard to see in Gen 5.

    Any thoughts?

Your blue baby is beautiful! I have seen a few Primes around, and they really look cool. I can't decide if I like this Prime or the Gen 5 better, never having ridden in either one.
    What is you gas mileage?

    Your car is ugly.

Kidding! but you're kind of setting yourself up there.

I think there are some nice details on the 4th generation cars, but the pictures I've seen of the 5th show a prettier overall shape.

You'd have to ask non-Prius folks for an unbiased opinion, and I think you know how they'll answer. They've been answering the question over and over again on YouTube. People never even giving the Prius a second thought now saying they want one. It's an amazing transformation.

I like the way my 2019 looked. I loved the way it drove. No complaints at all. Getting another smart, reliable, efficient car that looks like this... feels like cheating.

I've had 2 GEN IIIs and still have the 2015, but had to sneak up on them looks wise. If I ever buy another Prius...the GEN 5 will be an easy decision based on looks alone.

May as well call the new Prius a Lambo...

Gen 5 Prius/Prius Prime actually looks like a Chevrolet Volt than any other car.

    Great comparison!

From the side, Gen 5 is certainly sportier with larger tires.

I didn't realize that Gen 5 windows were so much smaller than the Gen 4 windows.

    Getting closer but...

Toyota really did a number on 2021/2022 Prius buyers. Nobody wants a redesign to come out like this after they just bought their car. You do have my sympathies. I was in the market to trade my 2019 in, so the timing was absolutely perfect. Rest assured my timing in many of life's other adventures has not gone nearly so well...

It honestly is jaw-dropping when you walk right up next to one. From a distance it's harder to gauge just how radical the changes are.

I was not happy when I first experienced the new "sporty cabin", but I'm a Prius fan, and this is still a Prius (somehow). It just looks sexy AF now. I'll gladly give up a little headroom and never venture into the back seats LOL.

There are several Volts around here, they are very good looking cars. People tend to take really good care of them.

The only thing I hate about the looks is the huge black grille. Honda and Toyota have gotten carried away with black plastic. It looks cheap and hideous.

the gen4 is a nice looking car except for the huge gills. i think moet would say gen5 is better looking, but it does have a lot of other shortcomings compared to gen4, but also some nice improvements
