2011 Prius, typical problems, thinking of replacing engine

    I would not worry about the other common issues until and if something shows up. They are easier to identify than a loose hose, believe it or not. You have resolved the biggest issues with the rebuild back in 2019.

    I know some of my people think I'm crazy for wanting to keep this car, but I'm feeling pretty good about all of it. I haven't regretted any of it at all! Right now my biggest relief is finding this Prius guy that I know can take care of any problems I have. HUGE!

    A vin reflects a sequence code (last six digits) per manufacturing plant (the seventh from last digit). There were plants 0,1, 3 and J. Two made hatchbacks, two made v wagons and one made plugins. Even when one plant made two of the three models, the sequence code was separate for each model. A given vin was unique for the vehicle and the same vin was on the engine. Vehicles made for Japanese use did not have a US style vin code so JDM engines do not have vin plates.

    When looking for the 2014 piston/piston ring production change you have to reference different vins per model and factory.
