Toyota wants 200 for a cable adapter for this usb charger I just got used for my center panel.
The wiring is there now, but I do not have the little plug in plastic adapter.
    here is the unit.

I would consider just replacing the whole charger if I could find one that fits the hold perfectly.... or re-use my original part.
The new used panel on the right. 444.jpg

Really sucks because I called two toyotas... both said I could not get the part over the counter. My local does not really want to help and said $200... and it is nearly impossible to find a prius in a junk yard here.

Hmmm. LOL im in CLT working now. Well have you metered the plug wiring to confirm the voltage? It is usually 5.0 volts IIRC. So you have only 2 pins in there? if that is the case you could find 2 part modelling clay and make a mold of the plastic insert. Then is you sourced pins that fit you could fabricate your own plug. A 3D printer might also work. Hmmm. Or You could take apart the USB port and solder wires to the board inside and make your own connector. What does the plug under the center console look like?

Since i saw the new Prius 2019 e-AWD gettting USB ports at the rear on the armrest i decided to do the same. It was easier than i thought , you just need to pull the rear panel and it come off. There is a lot of room behind the panel so you just need to make a hole to fit your USB ports and run 2 wires tap the power from the '' round'' 12V plug.

I use the 12V to power a Dashcam but now i have 2 extra charging port for the rear passengers. I suggest to use a multi-meter to make sure that the polarity is right. in my case the green is the Positive and the white& black was the negative.

What do you mean exactly? There is some wiring there, but it ends in a different connector that doesn't fit?

So that charger box has two pins. I'm going to assume they are straightforward +12V and ground, as you'd expect the car to supply, and the conversion to USB voltages happens inside the box, as you'd expect for a USB charger box.

If you know what car model that charger box came from, you can go to the electrical wiring diagram for that car and look up the part number of the connector that goes there, the part numbers of the two terminals that go in it, and which one is supposed to be +12 and which ground (if my assumption is right). Then you just go to your dealer parts counter and order the connector and the two terminals, by their part numbers, and make the connector up yourself.

Toyota Service Information and Where To Find It | PriusChat

On that wiki page, where it talks about the electrical wiring diagram, notice it also links to examples of how you search it for connector and terminal part numbers.

I do not have a 3d printer... or plan to use putty. My last option is to open it and solder wires to the circuit board or buy those copper pin connectors and just slip them on the pins and heat wrap them.

Or I may just get an aftermarket one that fits.

If you look at the last picture, I replaced the original Cig lighter port with this one upload_2023-5-3_17-45-25.png

Which, is excellent and has a shut off button.

The problem with this one is people keep kicking it and either loosening the adapters or breaking them. The last pic shows this adapter in the middle. There must have been a connector... to the original adapter and if there was, I am pretty sure I tossed it as I have recently with all the misc parts I have been holding on to for all cars since my 86 Z28 and personal watercraft mods. Unfortunately I now need this frigging part.

There is no connector. I have now wasted the better part of a day looking for this. I even checked the service manual and there is nothing.

I have looked for a wiring harness diagram... NOthing, not even in the service manual.
I have searched the internet to no end, called two different toyotas checked two Prius forums... and followed a few things you recommended which turned up NOTHING.
While I appreciate your information, I was hoping to just get an answer or a DIRECT LEAD to the specific answer. Not search for a few more hours or days, for which I am not getting paid for. Would be cheaper to just buy the 200 dollar part. But thanks, maybe that information will come in handy some other time... And probably the most helpful links you showed required a considerable amount of money to pay.

I am willing to bet that is the part, although I am not sure because I cannot see the other end. It would have been on the original cigarette lighter port, and I cut it off to install the aftermarket charger.

If you look again at my post, you see I did not recommend a few things. I recommended exactly one thing, that you use Toyota's electrical wiring diagram and get the part numbers for the connector and terminals, and then buy them.

The wiki page I linked you to explains how to access Toyota's electrical wiring diagram. It explains ways that may be free depending on where you live, and it also explains the direct way that costs $25. It also has examples showing you directly how the wiring diagram is used to find connector and terminal part numbers.

Whether $25 represents "a considerable amount of money to pay" depends on how much unpaid time you feel like spending on searching random corners of the internet and coming up empty-handed.The wiring diagram is where you go if you feel like not messing around, and just directly getting the part numbers you need so you can buy them.

I could not find it on wiki... nothing came up for electrical wiring prius etc. was there for a few minutes trying various searchs to no end.

I read through the wiring sheet RM06H0E (toyota-tech.eu)

Several times going over all the connectors for 2, male and female water proof and non waterproof (just in case) 3 times and the adapter is not in there. (also cross referenenced on the internet for images to match. Nothing really comes close!

I normally do not want to be spoon fed, but really.... not looking for directions to the mountain... I am looking for directions on the trails. I do not like being gaslighted or manipulated... if you know tell me, otherwise thanks anyway. I have wasted 7 hours on this.... do you understand?

    Heheh.

I will try Toyota tomorrow and also purchased this, and may try it first.

    upload_2023-5-3_21-30-3.png

Should have it tomorrow. The dimensions are off by a few hundredths of an inch. If I still remember how to use a caliper correctly. Kind of tricky due to the hole dimensions and then the limited area within the panel. 44.jpg

Yes, that's what I see when I click that link, too.

So I gave you that link, saying you should go to the Electrical Wiring Diagram.

So you would naturally have seen that out of the whole first section with the heading "Service Information", the second paragraph was the one that tells you about the Electrical Wiring Diagram, and describes what's in it and gives two links for further explanation of how to find connector and terminal part numbers in it. (That paragraph also has a link to the old Wire Harness Repair manual that you looked through, but identifies that right there as being just a supplement to the Electrical Wiring Diagram for older models, and not a substitute for it).

So that's the one paragraph you needed out of the first section, and then there was the whole second section with the heading "Where To Find It". There you saw, clearly called out under separate headings, the free databases, the Toyota subscription databases, the third-party subscription databases, and so on, presenting you all the ways available for you to access the Electrical Wiring Diagram.

I understand you were frustrated with the time it took you to find what you wanted. But your post sounds as if the way I directed you to the Electrical Wiring Diagram was unclear somehow, so I'm open to suggestions for how you're thinking it could have been clearer.

As I said, I read much of it, and looked at the diagrams and passed through it all 3, actually 4 times. The information I needed was not there. maybe it is a newer type. I have posted the correct type, but did not find it there. Found it on like the 50th internet search, actually in a pic from china or japan from an old ebay listing that is no longer there.

    Read much of what?

    Looked at what diagrams?

    Passed through all of what?

I specifically said the Toyota Electrical Wiring Diagram for your car is where you would find it. The PriusChat wiki page I sent you to explained how you can get access to the Toyota Electrical Wiring Diagram for your car in any of several ways, through free databases your local library might provide, or Toyota's subscription database, or third-party subscription databases.

So did you ever use one of those access methods, and go to the Toyota Electrical Wiring Diagram for your car, and look there?

It doesn't matter what else you looked at. No surprise if you didn't find what you wanted there.

And yes, in case you still need Toyota part numbers for the female terminals, the Toyota Electrical Wiring Diagram for the car is still exactly where you can find them, as earlier described.

Flaming me is not peoductive. I finally found the numbers as stated. Toyota was no help. Then they wanted 20 dollars for each terminal with a wire attached in addition to $14 for the part which was not overnight as stated but more like a week. I was going to get another adapter to salvage the wires and terminals and order the housing when i realized i have computer parts that fit the pins. After the last step i accidentally found the old lighter socket that had the damn housing under a bed!!! Anyway... after wiring it up, turns out the usb charger is shorted and almost fried cables on hooking it up. Want to kill the f'er that sold it on ebay. I installed the aftermarket usb charger, but had to hot glue it for now as it was not a perfect fit. This was a pain.

The productive part—if there is any—is not flaming you, but finding out what it was you were looking at, instead of the electrical wiring diagram, and how that ended up happening, so that future readers can be better steered toward where they will find the information they want.

Since you did say you "passed through it all 3, actually 4 times", but won't say what you were passing through, my best guess is you were looking in the generic Wire Harness Repair Manual that Elektroingenieur mentioned in passing in the paragraph about the Electrical Wiring Diagram ... since you did mention that in post #11 and call it "the wiring sheet".

Elektroingenieur did mention that document was just a supplement to the Electrical Wiring Diagram, for older models, but maybe he did not emphasize enough that it isn't a substitute for the wiring diagram. I've edited the wiki page to say that more emphatically, and maybe that will help some future reader avoid the same frustration.
