I went through the same decision making process as you. I was initially looking at a Prime XSE Premium, but ended up deciding on a regular Prius Limited.

I'm going from a base trim gen3 Prius, so everything is an upgrade for me. lol. The key things I was looking for that led me to the Limited were the panoramic view monitor, digital rearview mirror(for those winter days when I don't want to spend an extra few minutes clearing the rear window of snow/ice), ventilated seats(for the hot summer days where the car was baking in a parking lot for hours), and the larger screen and better stereo. To be honest, I'm kinda spoiling myself a little by getting all the things that I haven't had for the last 13 years(actually ever, since the car before my Prius was also a base model).

The power hatch will be nice, but I'm unsure how much it's going to be a bonus for me considering the way I use my car(when I typically want to open the hatch, my hands are already full, so it's not like I can dig into my pocket to press the keyfob button early anyway). But maybe my habits will change and I'll come to love it.

Toyota isn't above stealing from Subaru, so you might be able to open the hatch by simply blocking the emblem on the hatch for a moment or two.

27,450 base MSRP + factory/port installed options + destination = 29,700 sales price for LE.

31,200 out the door (Doc fees, taxes, etc.)

    Kansas.

Sit down one afternoon and cut/paste an email inquiry to 30 of the closest dealers to you and weed out the ones that won't sell at MSRP. They are out there! :)

I saw an XLE in White Pearl at the Olathe Toyota dealership when I went in for parts...It was marked SOLD with no sticker...so I didn't get to see the price. This was on April 26. so 2 in Kansas. Sales guy told me the port for them was Long Beach...long trip...but Jersey is also a heck of a drive

Legends of K.C told me they sell at MSRP. Midwest in Hutchinson does.

Since I hit up so many dealers when looking for my own 2023, I'm still getting messages when allocations drop. Just got another message now. These are available to have deposits put down on them immediately. I'll start posting their availability in here. Waiting for a sales price on the latest.

Finally got a reply on the selling price... $5k "market adjustment". Dodge City no less lol. It's crazy how one dealer will tack on 5K and another dealer 45 mins away will sell at MSRP. This is a great opportunity for smaller dealerships to build some new, loyal relationships.

Hutchinson Toyota has an XLE in Guardian Gray at MSRP right now if anybody's interested.

As you know, you have to be careful and wait to see what the bottom line becomes. Some dealers advertise selling at MSRP but then add on non negotiable items (paint protection, etc) that would then equal another dealer that is $5k over MSRP but doesn't charge for paint protection. In this current market I'm sure some dealers are aware that "over MSRP" is a non starter to consumers and advertise at MSRP to get folks in the door.

All kinds of tricks are employed in the car business for sure. My experience shopping for a 2023 has been pretty straightforward with respect to price hikes. In fact, they are almost cocky about it. It's been a rough several years for dealerships so they are not shy about making what they can on what they have.

They've always been quick to show the sticker, which includes factory/port-installed options, destination, etc. Then they'll add the market adj. on there. I did have one dealer in Oklahoma that had their own "dealer package" costing several grand and filled with 3M coating, tinted windows, etc. The key to seeing all the numbers is asking for the "out the door" price w/ itemization. Everything gets laid on the table at that point including taxes.

The dealer I bought my car from advertised MSRP and sold it as such adding only the doc fee and a $300.00 "loyalty" deal that includes some maintenance B.S. and a voucher for $500 off my next Toyota with them. I'll just look at it like an expensive coupon. :cautious::whistle:

The good news is, I didn't buy the car at my local dealer who told me straight to my face that $6k is going on top of the final sales price. No blinking whatsoever.

Hutchinson. Good people. Ask for Michael C.

He's got a Gray XLE (FWD!!) on its way and unspoken for as of about an hour ago.

Gave me top value on my trade-in also.

We use the power hatch on our RAV4 hybrid all the time! And I too wanted XLEwith upgraded 12 inch display but now I am getting a limited with everything. I am OK with it. The only thing I don’t have a big use for is the advance park and heated rear seats! i’ve been looking for some real owner reviews on YouTube, and not finding much! A lot of fluff pieces and factory sponsored reviewer’s!

I got a fair "OTD" price after doing a bunch of email inquires on prices. I went with the one with the least amount. When I got there the "OTD" price quoted was said to be invalid b/c the person quoting the price was wrong. I believe they quoted the phony "OTD" price just to get me in the dealership to beat me up on the "correct price".
Ahhh no thanks. If they lied about the OTD price what else would they lie about? After trying to put in a used car trade in fee I walked. .I had no used car trade... uff
