I'm putting a deposit down in the morning for a car that was allocated to the dealer yesterday. I was holding off until the Prime prices were revealed to see if I still wanted to go that route. But considering my climate and usage, a HEV AWD just makes more sense than the PHEV Prime.

Toyota Logistic Services, Inc, at the Port of Long Beach so far logged this many Prius Prime PHEV units within 500 miles of my Zip code. Yesterday, there were only an SE and an XSE. I expect more in the next few days:

    SE: 16
    XSE: 66
    XSE Premium: 26

    None has the solar-roof option.

It turns out these are the ports of entry for Toyota, where there is a Toyota Logistics Services, Inc, facility:
    • Long Beach, California
    • Benicia, California
    • Portland, Oregon
    • Newark, New Jersey
These are the other Toyota Logistics Services, Inc, facilities:
    • Princeton, Indiana
    • Georgetown, Kentucky
    • Fremont, California (closed in 2010 and converted into condos when Tesla bought the NUMMI factory from GM and Toyota*)
*Ironically their last car was a red Corolla, and I had a 2009 red Corolla built by NUMMI in early 2008.

Port of Benicia named Toyota's third West Coast port of entry

TORRANCE, Calif., July 15, 2006—Toyota Logistics Services (TLS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), USA, Inc., today announced plans to import and process select Toyota vehicles through Benicia by the fall of 2006.

Earmarked for distribution throughout Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Texas and parts of California, these vehicles are presently imported through the Port of Long Beach, where Toyota's rail-yard lease expires at the end of 2006. Toyota also maintains a west coast facility at the Port of Portland.

Portside vehicle processing at Toyota's 34-acre, 25,000-square-foot facility will be handled by Amports, Inc., a 40-year veteran of vehicle processing.

"We look forward to working with the Port of Benicia," said Alan DeCarr, group vice president for TLS and international operations. "The new arrangement enables us to continue to efficiently support our vehicle distribution demands."

About Toyota Logistics Services: Toyota Logistics Services was founded in 1976. The subsidiary is wholly owned by Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. and has facilities in Princeton, IN; Georgetown, KY; Fremont, CA; and the ports of Long Beach, CA; Portland, OR; and Newark, NJ. TLS manages all vehicle logistics operations for Toyota, Lexus and Scion.

About Toyota Motor Sales, (TMS) U.S.A., Inc.: TMS is the marketing, sales, distribution and customer service arm of Toyota, Lexus and Scion in the United States, marketing products and services through a network of 1,422 Toyota, Lexus and Scion dealers in 49 states. Established in 1957, TMS and its subsidiaries also are involved in distribution logistics, motorsports, R&D and general aviation. The company's main Web site is http://www.toyota.com.

The 2023 Prius Prime batch delivered by Century Highwaygreen was pretty small—only 114 units shown in the inventory within 500 miles of my Los Angeles County Zip code.

We are now waiting for the batch from Texas Highway. It could be about twice as many units.

The Century Highwaygreen batch should make it to the dealers in early May.

The Texas Highway batch should make it to the dealers in late May.

Most of the delay between the arrival at the port and arrival at the dealer is due to the logistics services at the port, which also includes installation of the OEM accessories. This process takes about a month and followed by transit to the dealer, which takes about a couple of weeks, including the queuing for transit.

I checked with Longo, and they are currently allocated seven Prius Primes, three being SE (gray, white, and red). It is going to be a long wait for those who are way down on the waiting list. ;)

Hey Gokhan, I think I am somewhere around #700 on the Longo waitlist, do you think I'm expected a two year wait?? My salesperson is non-responsive, lol.

Yet another new batch, ETA April 29.

Looks like the current pace is 2 weeks per batch, let assume that each dealer could get 5 to 10 slots per batch or 130 to 260 new priuses per year. Unless thing get speeded up, it's gonna take more than 2 years to get one if you are around #700 in the waiting list.

Texas Highway just anchored off Long Beach. It is probably waiting for the Toyota Logistics Services to open for business Monday morning. We should see a bunch of new cars on the inventory as early as Monday or Tuesday.

Do you folks have info on cars destined for Canada? Original info was Primes in May…now, my dealer’s noncommittal…

Texas Highway moored early morning on Monday and departed the port in the late afternoon. The new 2023 Prius Primes just appeared in the inventory. This is what we have currently within 500 miles of my Zip code:

    SE: 67
    XSE: 99
    XSE Premium: 30

There are no packages available so far, which means that you cannot get the solar roof, PVM, etc. on a Prius Prime.

The numbers are increasing at the moment. We should see more in the next few days.

I am glad that there are a lot of SE trims unlike the LE trims for Prius.

Grand total of two XSE Premiums within 500 miles of me(one gray, one white). Both are in Minneapolis and have the heated rear seats as the only factory options.

    a lot ?
maybe that's from some other prospective ?
considering how regular Prius sales have been eviscerated?

    Percentagewise.

The LE trim was only a small fraction of the Prius trims in the initial batches. However, this has changed, and we are now getting plenty of LE trims, albeit still not as many as the XLE trims.
