Got some pricing in the region on head gasket repair

Both prices are very decent IMO.

 

Seen a post on here about Tampa hybrids offering 2500 head gasket replacements, decided to email them to confirm, and they do offer 2500 head gasket replacements, I’m also in OH and I asked how much It would be to ship my car to Tampa FL back and forth and they got back to me with $800-10k. I’ve been watching head gasket repairs on YouTube for a few weeks now and the process doesn’t seem that difficult once you watch it over and over

 

For less than $5600, you can get a new engine(1300-1500) + installation (800-2k) with the help of a local shop near you

 

For that price......not new......and not rebuilt either.
AS IS from a salvage yard. Might have a warranty and might not.

 

Those options are not rebuilds. Rebuild includes new pistons, rings and totally machined and tested head. Including clean egr cooler, intake and egr valve. This would be the only option to consider at 250k miles. Under $5k installed. Sell or keep.

How many miles ?
Original HV battery still in it ?

I personally wouldn't consider putting that kind of money into a soon-to-be 10 year old car.
Other major expenses might be on the horizon.

Used from JDM importers That's quite a different set of specifications in other countries Go to their site check them out whatever You're not going to get that kind of a mileage anywhere in the States everything you find is going to be 90,000 and up usually way up rebuilding and all that shop labor on parts that already have 90 to 200,000 miles or what have you yeah okay remember it's an open deck assembly a week design already by design It's just the way engines are built now a lot of them anyway.

I went ahead and got a $200 transmission with the engine and I paid 11 for the engine two for the transmission total delivered from I think Florida to North Carolina was $225 so whatever that total was sitting at my door I wanted to have an engine and transmission with similar mileage that was the goal worked out pretty decent.
