Rear Speed Sensor/Wheel Bearing

    That's actually been my thought the whole time it's just to clear the codes and see if anything comes back and now some people that I've been talking to you or put it in my head that I have a defective part so now I have doubt in my mind. I'm still just a bit apprehensive about jumping the pins to clear the codes.

    So now I had some time I was able to check the part and the speed sensor is working on the new part I installed the lights still do not go off used a very top of the line code reader erase the codes and they didn't even turn off, the lights stayed illuminated as I watched the tool say that it was cleared. The plug terminal seem really good. The only thing I can think of now that it is is somewhere in the wire between the rear of the car and my computer. So does anyone have any input on this issue and how I can avoid it being a very costly repair because I'm all out of diagnostic ideas now.

    Hi Phoenix. I know this thread has stopped going since 2018, but here it goes. Is 2021 and I am reading it because I have exactly the same problem. I had all the brake (yellow and red), abs, vcs lights on, scanned and it came back with code c0215 (rear left speed sensor). I replaced it (non Toyota original) and the fault still there even after resetting the paper clip way and high tech scanner way. I checked the wiring aroung the wheel and it shows no sign of damage. I done a continuity and resistencia check from the connector end by the speed sensor to the next end which is just on the other side of the wheel arch behind the left passenger seat and is all within limits. I tried to do the same checks from the connector behind the passenger seat to the next connector which is the one that goes into the anti skid module. It seats by the right/behind of the gas pedal. Because my Prius is a uk model the anti skid module is located very far by the right front door and I cant even undo the connectors from the module due to lack of freedom. The amount of dismantling will be an absurd, so I decided for the moment to assume it is in within limits to as the wiring looks intact.
    I was wondering how in your case as you having replaced the speed sensor and still facing the same problem ,how have you come to a fix.
    It would be very interesting to know it.

    Just for clarity, you rescanned the car after clearing the codes? If so, did you confirm it is the same C0215?

    What scanner are you using? Is it capable of interrogating the battery or hybrid vehicle (HV) ECUs?

    I would suggest looking very closely at the terminal pins on your old sensor assembly to see if there is ANY corrosion present. If there is then the connector may not be making proper contact.

    If the pins look shiny and bright then unplug the right rear sensor. Does the ecu set a code for that? Plug the old LR sensor into the RR harness. Does the code for the RR go away? (ie, is the old LR sensor actually faulty?) Try spinning that wheel hub while someone watches your scantool to see if the data shows a speed signal for that circuit.

    If I am diagnosing a problem like this then I try to do things like carefully running long jumper wires to connect the harness on one side to the sensor on the opposite. I want to eliminate possibilities by proving what bits are functional. Yes the old sensor could have failed, but you don't know if the new part is good. (NEW = never ever worked).

    I have the exact same problem!! And I want to know what happened after this.
    It's been four months having this problem. I replaced with cheap ones but the lights never disappeared.
    So I bought a hub from NSK and a wire from Toyota and installed them.
    The lights are still there and keep coming back after resetting with the pins.
    Some people mentioned that it is recommended to drive in test mode or something?

    What year Prius do you have? Mileage? What warning lights are on? What codes does it have? How do the brakes feel - any weird noises? What testing have you done?

    We can't read minds, so the more info you can give about your situation, the better.

    Prius 2011, 150,000 miles, C0210, The ABS, Slip and both brake warning lights are on.
    The regenerative brake is not functioning.
    I probably should share this in Gen3 forum?

    A mechanic found out that the electricity is not coming from the wire inside of the body that is connected with the ABS wire harness.
    So the problem should be inside of the body, wires or ECU.

    I will try to see wiring inside to see if there is any corrosion.
