I used heavy gear oil and reapplied a couple of times when the oil filled up with metal cuttings. Wiped the bit and reapplied the oil.

Because the actuaries who calculate the numbers for the insurance companies consider a cat theft profitable. It's one of the least expensive ways to permanently raise rates on the policy holders. Of course I don't yet have the numbers to prove this theory. Main point is not once have I ever seen an auto insurance company raise concerns about this massive cat theft epidemic!

I would have expected more than a few gleeful comments by now about how the cretin deserved what happened.

I'm saddened by the fact that the lady in the Ford has to live with the fact that she squished a would-be cat-napper.

Quite brazen. I feel like the would-be thieves saw the driver napping inside and figured to go for it anyway, thinking it'd be funny. Wouldn't surprise if me if they were filming and laughing about it on their phones too, before the short-straw winner got squished.

 

Those thieves put their own lives in danger, the woman was not trying to kill anyone over a cat. That said, I guess we should all just let people steal what they want with no repercussions like they do in California.

PLATINUM & PALLADIUM PRICES CRASHING
Several years ago, prices of palladium and platinum surged but now with more EVs, prices are tumbling. The metals are used in catalytic converters but since EVs don’t have an exhaust system, demand is falling. Palladium was high as $3,000 an ounce in early 2022 but now it’s down to $1,000 an ounce. Prices of platinum are down 9% so far this year, after dropping 8% in 2023. And the auto industry accounts for 40% of platinum demand and 80% of palladium. Palladium prices are expected to keep falling in the future because there isn’t another industry that can help offset the drop in demand. But platinum could fare better since it is used in jewelry.​
