    A lot of them did, but deadlocking doesn't matter if you can remotely unlock and start a car by pinging the original key inside someone's house.

    I believe some of those vehicles required a line-of-sight to lock/unlock (similar to a tv remote). (That’s why there’s a small dark square on the door handles.

    You sure? I haven't seen a remote key need a line of sight since the late 90s when Citroen and Peugeot still used infrared. RF keys made it so you don't need line of sight anymore?

    I meant those 90s cars with deadlocks had IR fobs.

    You’re right. I haven’t seen any since the switch to Keyless Go (MB’s version of SKS)
