I'm glad the deposit I put on a g5 is pretty low. The dealership I dealt with is a lot more confident of being able to get me a Prius than a bz4x. Was told I SHOULD be getting a Prius this year... exactly when... I'm expecting fall at the earliest.

x2 about saving up for a bigger down payment. I also notice that DUCA credit union here in Ontario vary between 4.3 (1 yr) to 4.4%

Wonder how long these can be 'locked in' for...

I agree, I would've put money down if I had the opportunity but she specifically told me not to until pricing came out and would contact me to do so. They do have an order system in place based on order date so I'm not worried. I'm just hoping it's sooner than later so it can finally feel "official" :D

I definitely get that... but on the other hand I can't help feel like my deal's a bit... 'tenuous', maybe, when my deposit receipt indicates 'tbd' as the car's price...

I don't know if cargurus is the best barometer, but it's the only one i have. it's supposed to be cars that are actually unsold and available, but it's sometimes 'now available to order' when you read the fine print.

Still, gives some indication that 2023's are at least trickling in to BC.

Who's going to the Toronto auto show? There's a combo $35 ticket that includes return GO transit fare. Would be fun to meet a few of you in person there!

I’ll be there. Will probably go evening of Wednesday the 22nd to avoid the weekend crowds. I bought my ticket in December when it was early bird 25% off. :)

They don’t always have the show cars open. I don’t think the Prius was in Montreal, was it?

In my experience, any production vehicle (outside of “exotic” cars) are usually open for the public to sit in. Batteries disconnected, of course. :ROFLMAO:

I worked at the Montréal autoshow many years ago, I think around 95/96? I remember seeing the EV1. Was a fun student job. :)

My recollection of the last Toronto auto show I went to was that the Rav4Prime display model was locked up. It was a one off.

Hope I’m wrong about the Prius.

It was a Prime outfitted with solar cell in Montreal, which won't be offered for sale here. I expect it'll be that model behind a velvet rope.

You are right, that would have been Feb 2020 (as I know the show was canceled in 21 and 22 with Covid), and the RAV4 Prime wasn’t actually available until 2021, so it was a recently announced pre-production vehicle at that time, so that is a bit different... ;) I remember going and seeing it too and you are right that it was locked from the public, but all other models were open. (y)

I’m not sure it will, since the Prius is already available “for sale” on Toyota.ca, so I think it will be open. The Prime may be behind a velvet rope since it has not been formally introduced yet, but not really a big deal IMO since the body, sizes, etc are basically the same as the HEV.

If memory serves, I think Toyota was offering Prius test drives at the last show in 2020 - would be amazing if they offered this again, but not holding out hope on that one… o_O
