Comments about Superbowl?

Hey Bob. Which Super Bowl are you talking about??? Not that I have much interest in watching it... the Super Bowl LVII Chiefs vs Eagles does not start another week...

 

I didn't even know it was on - I had a vague idea that it was a bit later in the year. I have just Googled it, though, so now I know who is in it this year. I used to have a colleague who I didn't like in Hong Kong who was from Kansas City, so that seems reason enough for me to want Philadelphia to win.

It is generally just those commercials you mention that make it into our media - the score will be mentioned in passing.

It's a sport, like cricket and baseball, that I just can't get into. I find it too slow and too stop-start. I know lots of Americans love it, but it's definitely not my thing.

Before 2014 it seems to me that these were softball chats; what team to you back? not unlike interviews about pardoning a year's Thanksgiving turkey(s). Got more feisty in 2014. Something stuck in Trump's craw about NBC in 2018, and thus declined. Something stuck in Biden's craw about FOX in 2023, and thus declined.
