I just bought a 2016 Prius 2. The sun was blinding me by reflecting off the horribly-designed dashboard. I love this car except for the horrible dashboard. Long story short, I solved some of the problem areas by having parts of the dashboard wrapped with a flat black wrap. But the monitor is the issue. I can't wrap that. And the monitor hoods for sale online won't help much at all. Yes, I tinted the windows. Does not stop the problem. Yes, I wear sunglasses. Does not really help. The sun comes in the passenger windows and rear window, reflects off the monitor and right into my face. Glare is not a problem. The sun reflecting off the mirror-like touchscreen monitor is the problem. Does anyone have a solution?

You may want to try the material that comes with new laptops or monitors to protect them during shipping. Afix it to the top and flip it over when you want to work the screen.

And yes I agree with you on the poor design. But it does look pretty when it's not blinding you. :D

Haha. Exactly. They designed it and tested the car only at night or only on cloudy days apparently. But thank you for the information. I may give that a try.

My third Winter with this vehicle. The Limited has that Apple Car Play-specific 11.6" diagonal Tesla monitor presenting a huge reflecting surface. Reflection from the sun is really only a problem this time of year with low sun angles, and most noticeable in the morning when westbound and again late afternoon if eastbound. My daily commute is exactly opposite this arrangement. One must be wary for traffic situations where a momentary blindness could be disastrous. That would be during high density urban driving, something that I see very little of. No solutions offered, other than maybe keep a towel on the passenger seat to throw over the screen if its really a problem.

You should always have your towel with you anyway (Hitchhikers Guide).

Try a matte screen protector meant for a tablet?
