First Gen 5 2023 Toyota Prius cars show up at the dealers!

Within 500 miles of Wash. DC there are 3. 2 are awd. All in Fort Wayne Indiana area. 2 are listed by the dealers and have vin #s. In transit/sale pending. They come of ships at Newark for that region. Allocations are set by the regional managers with input from the larger dealers as to what they like to sell. The rest get leftovers.

 

Not looking good for those on waitlist/order on a base model... I for one am on waitlist/order for a LE AWD at 3 dealerships in NorCal that is willing to sell at MSRP.

Got the XLE in Orange SoCal with $5K mark up.

First time buying a car ~15% higher than the sticker price: crazy.

 

What I meant is I already made a deposit and signed all the paperwork at the dealer in city of Orange SoCal (where I bought my Prius C) and waiting for delivery in early Feb.

I have 2 other dealers that backed out on me:

- Irvine: manager wants to hold it to show to other customers on their loooong waiting list.

- Tustin: same the manager wants more mark up even after agreed to price match $5K.

Both of them by email and phone calls, no trip to their dealers.

And the car in Orange that was on the Toy inventory list is not there anymore.

 

Come to the east cost, there are 4 within 500 miles and 2 are being advertised right at MSRP.

Looking forward to the day when new cars at MSRP is considered a starting point and not just a great deal. Car market has been a wild ride this past year/2 years.

 

With the recent price cut from Tesla, wonder how many people that had interest in the Prius decided to go with a Tesla Model 3 instead; maybe that would free up some vehicles for those who want a Prius.

 

Just wait. 2023 will be rough. Tesla slashed their prices for a reason.

 

Yes, I know. But I can't wait too long because my daughter is on a daily rental for ~$50/day. It's would be better if I choose a used or new 2022 but I want her to have a new re-designed Prius. It's somewhat a habit I've been getting just came out new line of model or new re-designed vehicles: 1994 Honda Accord, 1998 Honda Accord, 2012 Toyota Prius C, 2016 Mercedes Metris and now 2023 Prius Five. "New kid on the block" always feels good.

BTW, this is a upcoming birthday gift for my daughter.

 

I forgot the 1998 Toyota Avalon. Odd things are 3 of them either been discontinued or will be. Toyota Prius C 2019, Toyota Avalon and Mercedes Metris will be next year.

 

Well, I don't pay for all of the total: I got from insurance payout for my 2012 Prius C that has been totaled at around $14K.

 

I dont get it i ordered one and they say they dont have it. But I ordered LE with grey interior as well..
