It looks like windchill pearl (5) is the most available color, followed by guardian gray and cutting-edge silver (3 each), and only one midnight-black metallic, the last color option being the one I want on a Prius Prime SE. Toyota must have a whole lot of leftover white paint these days.

I think it is unrealistic for anyone to expect to get a Gen 5 Prius or Prius Prime unless they get on the dealer waitlist and wait for a year. Even with that, most dealers are charging hefty markups.

More keep popping up every minute. I see three in supersonic red and one in reservoir blue now.

There is still only one midnight-black metallic. :( The most available colors are windchill pearl, guardian gray, and cutting-edge silver.

Prices are crashing on used cars. Not a good time for Stealerships to be trying to rape their customers charging $5k over sticker.

No thin here, not even in transit. Probably not even anywhere east of LA. Which is worse the markup or nothin? Wonder of Toyota USA knows anything else, besides smartpath ?
The Chevy Toyota Nissan local dealer where I got my 14 PiP has a website feature called Toyota Pipeline, all it is, is a contact dealer thing by another name. blah blah blah

Only white color I'm seeing is called Ice Cap on 2023 Corolla and Camry.

Try increasing the range to 500 miles. I see about 28 in Southern California right now, but the number is constantly increasing. The Ro–Ro is probably docking to Los Angeles, not San Francisco.

Here is the current trim breakdown:

    XLE: 38
    Limited: 3
    LE: 1

So, Toyota chooses to mostly produce the worst trim probably because they make the most money out of it. Go find the only fuel-efficient trim, which is LE, if you can!

They'd be stupid not to try. I doubt it will last, but... nobody is going to get fired for trying premium prices before backing down to MSRP.

Those are the safe colors dealers want. Something with an actual hue might turn off a potential buyer, while black does so for its dirt showing ability.

First delivery goes to the West Coast because of proximity. East Coast has to wait for the next ship.
The first HiHy's to my dealership were all Limiteds. Surprised there isn't more of them here. Manufacturers start with higher trims for profit, and to give the factory the most practice installing all the features.

The dealers have absolutely no control over which color is delivered to them—or which model, which trim, which options, which accessories, etc. Toyota dealer allocations are entirely random.

And Toyota does not conduct surveys of what their dealers want as part of the process to decide what to make and where to ship?

Probably not. However, they probably do some marketing research/data science as all companies do.

I don't think so. The poster probably mistook Gen 4 for Gen 5.

All 46 on the inventory are showing as "Vehicle is in build phase. Contact dealer to confirm availability date." Moreover, there is none showing within 500 miles of Connecticut. All are in California or nearby.
