People here do it all the time on previous replies on threads thats posted in the past. I won't use the search feature to find those threads and paste them here because no one else uses the search feature anymore. #searchfeaturedeletemod
Yep, this thread has been enlightening. Never knew so many people were walking away from their running vehicles. Think I'll read "Christine" and take a paranoid, defensive walk through the neighborhood, taking sideways glances at every supposedly parked car.
I walk away from my vehicle when running in my garage every single morning. I start the car and go in and get my coffee. I prefer to have the car go through some cycles while stationary. I also take my dog out and let him walk around for a few minutes at a park. I'll leave the car running, but it's never sounds like it's running compared to my Accord. In the summer, I leave the car running with the AC blowing whenever I have my dog with me and I have to go inside for a few minutes. I use my car for deliveries at work and I leave my car running more than I turn it off when making a scheduled stop.
Yes! It's true, I was at work left the car running, the car was in park, the park button was green I got out of the car it jumped out of the park. I was so lucky that I manage to get into the car to stop it. I turned the power off completely, and applied the emergency brake.
All of us who camp in our Prius would like the collective brains in this forum to snuff out the idea that this could actually happen.
I'll be Prius camping this weekend. Low temps of 29° at night. You won't find my happy but in a tent when I got a warm Prius
