I am looking to install some brighter lights as I drive at night alot. I have sylvania upper tier bulbs and I could use more light that these.

I am looking at these ones, or the Sealight ones.

Do I need any extra parts, or to do any extra modifications to make this work for my 2013 prius?

I found Sealights to work well, bright and with a good clear cutoff in the right place. But horrid amounts of radio interference, so I had to give up listening to the radio when the headlights are on.

If you want brightness go with a 55W hid kit. Way better than led.

I've had the sealight ones from Amazon which were a direct replacement for for the stock halogens about 6 months now. No issues so far and a lot easier than an HID kit which i had in there previously.

    Are these low beam bulbs?
Do I need any type of sealant to waterproof the bulbs?

I am thinking about trying both options.

Is there a difference between h11 and 9005/hb3? Do both work my prius?

I’ve tried that and its no better than the LEDs. 55W HID is the way to go.

They are low beam bulbs and no sealants needed. Plug it in and good to go

Yeah, I pretty much had to resort to Bluetooth or CDs or USB sticks, with the LED headlights trashing the radio reception so thoroughly. Leave radio listening for daytime with the headlights off, or when in town listening to very strong nearby stations.

The only downside to an H9 is a shorter lifespan, (if properly powered). If there was no improvement there is concern of inadequate wiring. The next step would have been checking the voltage at the bulb during operation, and possible wiring upgrade.

An HID is not going to have the same output as a filament. The pattern will not match the optics of the lamp. You may be blinding oncoming traffic, or have lowered the aim to the point where foreground lighting is very strong, which constricts the pupils decreasing distance vision.

The SAE (task force) is working on LEDs, technologically it is supposedly possible to mimic a filament bulb, but still waiting patiently for a true replacement….

Has anyone used these lights? It is not clear whether the 80W is for a single light bulb or a combination of both bulbs. The OEM halogen light is 55W, and I don't want to have an overheat.

I’ve had an earlier version of these since June 2020 on my wifes 2013 Prius Two, super easy installation, plenty bright (mine were rated at 10,000 lumens). Can’t recall any interference with the radio, we usually listen to our phone over bluetooth or CDs.
