That sounds borderline dangerous. I still remember the sandwich I had at a little midwestern US cafe, where the squeeze bottle I took for mayo turned out to be horseradish.

 

One of my favorite sushi chefs liked to get the first-timers started with a "mint ice cream cone," a proper big scoop atop a temaki cone... He would usually interrupt and save the mark at the last second. Usually.

First off, a big thank you to you all! We are all still here! We have all lost some really close family members and friends since Covid and have learned to embrace the now. What has really been a pleasure over the last 2 years is coming to Pruischat and seeing all of you still here, typing your messages and responses. I read most of your messages and respond when I can. The community here reminds me that there are still people out there who like to talk not just about the Prius, but any car, life concerns, the economy, the environment and family issues. When you think about it, I find this community quite therapeutic.

With that being said, I wish you all, from Canada, New Zealand, New York (yeah, those bronx peeps!), Egypt, Mexico and all other areas in between that I have seen in here a wonderful holiday and a New Year that brings you happiness!

And a special shout to that special man from the mid-west with his Pontiac/Prius build! I think we are all living through his build!!

again, 20 bucks a month depends on how much you will be using it, and how big your battery is.

15 cents per kwh is cheap for new england, but expensive for florida, so you can only compare to local rates.
if there are no other charges, and i was driving a bev, or maybe even a phev with a large battery, depending on gas prices, i would be all over it.

 

$3k-3.5k for purchase and installation seems fine, adds value to the property anyway.

Ideally, it buys you responsive property management, and that's a fair price for such. If it doesn't work one day, you make one phone call and they take care of it.

How often do they get to change the rate for electricity, and what regulator is watching them?

 

Seems pretty fair to me except for the $20/month. Then again, that's not much more than most streaming services these days. Compared to my three cents/kWh and self installed EVSE, though, I'm reminded of how blessed I am.

 

Parking in front of goldfish nets. Despicable.

 

We have idiots who like parking against the flow of the lane in our neighborhoods. Waiting for them to try and pull out onto the street and get hit head on.

 

But is making two U-turns actually safer? (Assuming they came from the way their vehicle is parked and are going to leave, continuing in the same direction).

 

Their cousins here drive a short distance on the wrong side of a two-lane rural road in order to check their mailbox without getting out of the driver's seat. That's especially dangerous at night to oncoming traffic, with their headlights confusingly in the wrong lane. Try to pass as usual on the right side of the blinding headlight and you'll end up in the ditch or in someone's yard.

 

If only more of them would suffer large scratches and paint damage from being sideswiped by wheelchairs attempting to squeeze by without falling off the other edge of the sidewalk, or trapped by a too-narrow gap to another obstacle.

A wheelchair won't get stuck trying to pass this one, but I do see numerous other cases where they would. The same applies to nose-in parking where vehicles overrun the edge too much. Or even worse, pickups that back in until their rear wheels touch the curb.

 

Maybe this has been mentioned. Maybe I mentioned it. But...

I hate LED bars on cars. You can't see a thing when someone is coming at you with one of those at night! I've decided to just not drive at night now that so many people have them. I have to slam on my brakes and come to a stop every time a car comes my way.

 

That would seem to count as a violation of the requirement to dim high beams when approaching. I know dad had a couple tickets or warnings for that long ago. But since the start of the Pandemic, traffic enforcement here has nearly ceased.
