We parked in a huge parking lot and couldn't find our car coming back. Panic button didn't work. Then we parked in the city and went to an event. Then afterwards spent quite some time trying to find our car. I wonder, since the Prius Prime has GPS, can we utilize that to locate the car? Like an APP which shows us where the car is?

Pretty sure you'd need the Advanced Trim Level.
I found the Prime App Car Locator gives you a ball park location not
a specific parking spot but certainly within a few rows in a parking lot.

Saw a lady taking some pics of her cars location on the way out of a uge parking garage, thought it was a good idea.
Of course, my wife thought it was because she would be falling down drunk on the way back

Thanks! We have the Prius Prime Plus. The car has GPS system. Technically we should be able to access that from our Android phone. I wonder if there is any way to utilize this.

You need the Telematics piece (Verizon Cellular) to report the car’s location. Advanced only.

there are apps for your phone that record the gps location when a blue tooth connection to your car is broken. that way you can navigate to where you where when your car was shut off. obviously you need to have your phone paired to the car for it to work.

someone will have to look it up though. I don't have it on my phone since I have the advanced app which works pretty good for this.

Google maps gives you the option of saving where you parked on your phone. It's free.

I have 2 apps on my iphone that show where my car is parked. Maps & Google maps are the 2 apps. I just used both and they both show the car is at my house. They get triggered any time the car is turned off and locks in your cars location.

Just a little more detail: while the GPS system in the car may know where it is, only the Advanced trim has the built-in cell phone to allow you to access that information from the Internet. This is the same system that provides emergency response comparable to GM OnStar. So on other trims, other solutions as have been mentioned are needed to locate your car.

Glad you found out about the apps. They are handy. They just note your location when they lose bluetooth contact with the car. Not spot on accurate, but they'll usually get you close enough to reach the car with your fob.

Android is Google's software, yes it will work on Android. When I navigate somewhere with google maps, once I have arrived and the navigation is complete, it asks me do I want to save my parking. Also, if you press and hold on the map, you can save any location.

There are apps for apple phones that will GPS mark where you parked your car and you can use the map to find it again... I am sure android have the same thing. You might have to remember to keep it turned on, on your phone. It does not require any thing from the car.

No need for another app with iPhone. It's baked in. Just open Apple Maps.

Oh no...yes definitely use one of the apps suggested. I used the Google app on my iPhone when I park at the Air Force Football games out in the field...directs me straight to the car when walking. (Especially helpful when it's a night game...not many lights out in the dark field.)

I think something is baked in to Google Maps on Android too, even without Bluetooth. I have Bluetooth turned off on both car and phone ends, yet the phone has shown me a parking location a time or two without me recording it. But it isn't something I look for or use regularly, so haven't dug into the details.

Same here. I haven't wished for help to find my car since I got turned around in a hospital parking garage that was under repair about 8 years ago.

I have 'lost' my parked car a bit more often than that, but always just briefly. My time spent looking for it has been considerably less than the time spent trying to figure out and troubleshoot mobile phone app features and connection problems.
