While give the credit for efficiency, their profit margins are due to being able to charge extra because of the uniqueness of their product. There is a greater distinction between a Tesla and a Toyota than between a Toyota and a Honda in most people's minds.

But Tesla approval rating dips into negative territory: survey says that was then and is it valued that way still?

I followed the link and found their referenced survey page:

This approach reminds me of the 1960s cigarette commercials that reported how many doctors recommended a brand of tobacco. Are these really surveys or just advertising campaigns?

In about 3-4 weeks, we'll have the Q4 2022 production and sales numbers. About 6 weeks later, we'll have the financial numbers ... hard data. Survey accuracy has not impressed me lately and not just because I don't like what is reported. The absence of random selection can lead to a sampling fault.

I guess the first question is, what market are they aiming at, the world market or the US market. With so many countries now adopting the line of not registering any new pure fuel powered vehicles after what ever yr .... there seems to a competition to see who can mandate it first lately ...... then the manufacturers getting into the act, like Volvo Aust stopping petrol fuelled vehicle sales in 2026, that is the sort of thing that changes the market faster than anyone expected .....

SO - iow, because of some farcical nonsense about Tesla going hydrogen .... that necessarily means this story of Toyota suppliers speaking anonymously must necessarily be tantamount to the same level of nonsense as tesla hydrogen story? that's quite a leap.
This thread will definitely need to be revisited in a couple years
    ;)

I think the post you were referring to was just calling out the post they quoted, and was making no comment on the OT.

Thanks for the correction. The comment should have been a response towards @vvillovv
It's tempting to edit the above comment as there's still time. but then subsequent posts just add to the confusion. Sorry about my own screw up

    Ooooh! Links?

I want that FTL engine so I can get to work before I leave. That could save tons of time!

Ever watch a TV show Red Dwarf? Early in the series "Holly" complains about the ship getting faster than light speed and having to dodge things before he can see them

I won't post a fraud but I will tell you how to find them:
    1. Google "Musk INSANE engine"
    2. Google "Musk finally hydrogen cell"
    3. Google "Musk Insane light speed"
Do us a favor and enjoy them privately as these are total frauds and lies.

I might not look at all since I don't want to up the ratings on such things. Thanks for the hints, though.

I knew an ex-Air Force pilot that was hired by Israel to teach pilots on the newest fighter jets. One story that has stuck with me was the very high speed of aircrafts vs. the speed of the human brain to process what they see and need to react to.

He described an example of a mach+ route downwards, turning towards and then traveling under bridge that was high enough to fly under. He said that it was difficult to train pilots for proper control ability in such a situation as the pilot had to move the stick a little sooner than the brain "saw" what was in front due to the brain's delay, and also the added delay to move arm and hand. Light speed would be perhaps a notch more difficult.
