    Has anyone installed 55w HIDs?

I am running 35w HIDs that I purchased from eBay and they run great.
Wanted to upgrade to 55w but concerned about the heat and power draw

The power draw won't be enough difference that you'll even be able to see it on your meter hardly between the 35 and the 55 watt HIDs because that's all handled in the ballast for the most part your ballast is like the ballast in a fluorescent light It converts that 12 volts into whatever excites the gas 10,000 I have no idea depends on the color temperature you're going to put out too to get up to that color temp you have to have X amount of volts I think to make the gas turn that color or something along those lines.

Except, the cutoffs have rectangular cutouts separate from the cutoffs, sometimes referred to as "squirrel finders".

That's why there are two blocks of light above the cutoffs when you look at the light pattern against a wall. It's there so overhead signs and roadside signs above the cutoffs get some light while driving. However, with brighter lighting, they allow more glare above the cutoffs that can temporarily blind oncoming or drivers you are following, and affect their night vision.

So, yes, you can be "that guy".

Yeah could be that is possible but I must say as I see all these newer vehicles I can start rattling off models and names most of these vehicles have no adjustment on their headlights they are fitted to the car body and that's that they are bright as all get out they don't seem to be aimed properly and they're blinding the hell out of me everyday all of these new tahoes the ionic 5 I could go on and on all day but no need so if my lights and my old timey Prius are too bright oh well I'm so sorry. I do the best that I can to make that not happen that's why I drive the old generation too because I have the capability with screws to adjust those and dip them down a little bit No problem and I've done so very rarely in my Gen 2 does somebody flash me because they think my high beams are on and I mean rarely so as far as I'm concerned I'm pretty good I see other people flogging down the road with their high beams on permanently never to be returned to normal driving even brand new vehicles with the latest headlights and all they just put their high beams on and drive they wonder what the blue light on the dash is I guess.
