We use cabin air to cool the traction battery seems a better and more understandable way to say it but ok . Now that it know that
Yes and I need to clean my battery fan again. I cleaned it 60k miles ago but since then I thought I was putting AC air directly on the HV battery. LoL

Well.. my extremely low IQ friend. Your ability to comprehend anything is essentially zero compared to me since my IQ is literally double plus yours and my education level is literally thousands and thousands and thousands of times yours. And the fact that I live in my car while I make an extremely much larger amount of money than you do it's why I could easily buy your house from your mortgage company and kick you out of it. Make no mistake I'm a nomad because I'm infinitely smarter than you.

Cleaning the battery fan again today and adding a duct from the AC vent to the hv cooling vent. I'm doing this to prolong a battery that's been throwing a hot battery code for at least the 60k miles that I've had it. If the hot battery code goes away I'll advise as such.

Southern California doesn't need air conditioning that many days of the year.

I've been told on multiple occasions from people much more high class than you that I smell of monkey farts! And all I can say to THAT is... Yeah... They're probably right.

Cleaned the fan again today. I tested it and couldn't get it to spin so I ordered another one and put it all back together and I rented a car lol. No telling how long . I'll check it religiously from now on. I could just use the AC duct that I'm installing to push air though the intake but I won't drive the car. I'll tinker with it until the new fan comes in.

Yeah I'll do that, appreciate you kind sir....and only Prius stuff.. and now for something completely diff...no no only Prius stuff or strange things attached to my Prius. Thanks for your help

There are just "people" on here who KNOW EVERYTHING!
They are always right, and you are alway wrong. Unless you totally agree with them.
They live just to give other people grief. The always have to have the last word.
Probably because their homelife is bad so they need to take it out on others.

There are a lot of good things on Prius Chat that actually HELP people resolve problems.
So why waste time with the know it all's????

Click on their handle, and click the "ignore" feature at the upper right corner.
Dont' let stupid ignorant people mess up a good day! (y)

I wonder if the fan hasn't been working for some time. Yes running the AC provides cooler cabin air but also puts more load on the battery. I don't bother using the AC for short trips around town.

Yeah I fear it's been dead for some time. I'll check it very often now and I will add the duct from the AC. I'll monitor the battery temp and if the battery runs cooler with the cold air injection I'll keep it running just cause I'm weird. I'm sure it's not needed.

We sure but it's also a extra load on it with a old battery.

It's a minor load. And will help to keep the battery cooler.

On a longer drive yes but not short trips around town that never get the car cooled off.

Maybe you should have your a/c checked. Mine is cooled in 1 or 2 minutes.
On really humid days, it takes 3 or 4. That's in eco mode.

Closest vent on the gen 3 is the floor vent underneath the front seats. The cabin air is cooled pretty good but a bit of degrees warmer in the rear. If you are worried start tracking the battery temps with Dr. Prius so you don't have to guess.

Yes sir that's what I'm use to track the battery temp. I wish I had done that sooner but now I will. I'll take a look at that vent. Is that vent on when the AC is set to blow on the driver? Thanks mate!
