If you have the plugs out, unplugging the injectors will also work.
Seems it would be a lot easier, and less risky, maybe damaging the wiring(?) to
unplug the fuse/relay.

@NutzAboutBolts can I a suggest a minor edit? Your video on front brakes in the description your tool list says M8.25 hex bolt to remove the rotors, I believe the correct bolt is an M8 x 1.25. That might help others find the part a little quicker. Thanks again for all the great videos.

 

Good catch. Unfortunately I think he's moved on; last post was Feb 01, 2021. He's done a few product reviews on his Youtube lately, but not Prius or automotive specific.

 

You don’t need to replace those bolts; they aren’t one time use bolts.

 

These are extra bolts, you need to purchase, screw into threaded holes on brake rotors/drums, to help break them loose.

 

As an alternative, M8✕1.25 bolts are used in a bunch of places on the car, so if you need a couple to pop the rotors loose, you can usually find a couple nearby to borrow, then just put them back later.

 

Take them off old worn out hubs...

 

A hybrid strategy: take one of those bolts from the car (typically 12 mm socket size?) verify it fits the threaded holes on rotor/drum, then take it down to hardware store, (one with bolts/nuts in bins), test thread the borrowed bolt on one of their M8 nuts, then use that nut to check-fit of their M8 bolts. 25mm fully threaded works good.

I picked these up recently, having "misplaced" my earlier set. They're pretty ubiquitous these days.

Yeah it’d be nice if their YouTube could have some sort of folder for Prius specific. Not sure if that’s even possible; YouTube is a bit of a pain.

Thats a playlist if configured by the content creator. A user can create folders under his own account for any combination of videos.

This is my folder of 54 specific videos from different creators.


Plus you can have more specific folders that may duplicate videos in another folder

 

Head gasket replacement? I think their videos are only about what befalls their Prius, so knock on wood he never needs to do that one. He did mention getting a Sienna I think, so maybe the Prius is gone.
