    i would say the majority of sentiment here was for a better looking more mainstream prius, which it looks like they've accomplished

    Gone. Flat rear window like the regular Gen 4 (and 5).

    No idea if the hatch remains CFRP or back to steel/aluminium.

    The only advantage to a flat window is the ability to add a wiper.

    And they didn't add a wiper.

    Yeah. A little disappointed. They’ve been wanting to remove it for a while. Not sure if it’s aero or cost (or both).

    I wonder what the cost of not being able to see out the back when it's snowing wet sludge is.

    I don't know, however I believe that would be the same for the straight or curved glass.

    Over 200hp - for a prius? That's .... ridiculously nice! All these years - the Chevy volt's (greater) hp made the Prius hp look sort of anemic, tho it really wasn't that terrible. It still got the job done. Now? 200+ hp is over 25% greater than its closest sized car. Way to go Toyata!

    Also .... anyone yet been able to see if there's a rear window wiper?

    Major problems, Compared to the previous generation Prius Prime, it’s 2-inches lower, 1-inch wider, 1-inch longer length and with a hip point that’s almost 1-inch lower. So I need a 4 inch lift kit instead of a 1.5 inch lift.

    The Prime is more of just an engine upgrade to the Prius now, or should I say it is back to it, like the PiP.
    Ask the hundreds of thousands of owners of cars that never had one through the decades.

    Seems a no.

    Well at least they fixed that god awful dashboard FINALLY. Wish it wasn't shorter though. The Gen 4 is already a little tight on rear headroom.

    In the press release for the Prime, the only trim levels listed are SE, XSE, and XSE Premium.
    But then in this paragraph they reference LE, XLE, and Limited trims. Is this a mistake?

    The driver’s seat is electrically adjustable fire and aft, adjustable for seat bottom height, adjustable for seat bottom tilt and adjustable for recline.


    Power back door is just a power liftgate or electrically opening/closing rear hatch.

    1" lower to the ground is trouble. The Prime is already too low for a slightly tilted driveway, like mine, or several parking lots I've attempted to enter and then scraped the bottom of the front lip. 19" wheels? That's firmly in SUV territory, and too large for a high-mileage sedan and could be a hit on efficiency and keeping tires alive or keeping costs down at replacement time. 17" makes slightly more sense, but smaller is better for range, both electric and gas. There's going to be a lot of people getting even smaller wheels/tires if they can clear the brakes, and if there is a way to secure aftermarket wheels from falling off ;). The no HUD is a turn off, yet they now have a screen right there ahead of the steering wheel, which is why it is probably deleted in the 5th gen. The somewhat minimal row of hard buttons looks welcoming, and not as polarizing as the screen in the gen4 upper Prii and Primes. General dash layout looks decent but I hope they didn't do a Lexus and have three different methods to control AC, etc. which is both confusing and a waste of resources. Also, thank you, Toyota, for not placing a Lexus grille up front, similar to the 4th gen Prime. I dislike the looks of my 2017 Prime grille, which is why I have dark grey - to minimize the Lexus double triangle treatment.

    The syling, as others have mentioned, is plain and not weird. That might attract some newcomers. Or not. This isn't the SUV that everybody really wants. I'm really surprised they still kept the Prius as a mid-sized sedan, quite frankly.

    Toyota will use different trims in different markets. One gets LE's while another gets SE's. Or the no plug is using LE's.

    So this is likely an oversight when copying and pasting the copy for different releases.
