2023 Toyota Prius Is All New, Gets Optional Solar Roof Panel

Looks like the new Prius will have 220hp and be a plugin only. I guess that will satisfy what owners have been asking for more power, removed centered dash screens and bigger battery!

It's also lower, lower roof, and just.... delicate. I never had a problem with the prius prime power output, and the cabin fits me perfectly. The only thing I'd want is slightly better fuel economy, the car to be about 1-1.5 inches higher ground clearance and overall taller especially for the seat and a bigger battery. They could have pushed this entire new model back to 2025.

last attempt Toyota made to get the Prius into the European community, it was too over priced. That was when diesel was overly favored. Now, diesel is not so favored, so perhaps this time things will be different.

Reports are Europe is only going to get the PHV(Prime).

Diesel is no longer favored by the public, but the Prius is still an import with an added 10% or so tax. Now Europeans already have the choice of the Corolla sedan, hatchback, or wagon hybrids with the 1.8L or 2L hybrid without that tax. The Prius is probably keeping North America from getting the Corolla hybrid as a hatchback.

I'm certainly not liking the lower car with the lower roof. If my company buys me another hybrid I'm going to have look at the competitors and test fit the wife's Pride Revo 2.0 scooter on everything.

The article talks about the Prius with a 13.6 KWh battery. Are they confusing the Prius with the Prius Prime or is Toyota merging the two cars?

Lol, selling it as plugin only in Europe must be their pathetic attempt to address the fact that many cities in Europe are banning gas powered vehicles in some cities in less than ten years. I'm sure the fossil fool companies are cheering Toyota on for trying to get an exception for Plugin Prius.

Prime is also only used in North America. It's PHV in Europe and Japan.
No. It's because Europe already gets the Corolla hybrid in all three body types with choice of engines, without paying an import tax on it.
